Yes, input reading is an issue in Elden Ring, but at least it's criticized and seen as a negative aspect. Meanwhile, OoTgays praise the Dark Link fight as one of the best in the medium, even though it's 5x worse than Elden Ring's worst input reading enemy

I think it was to unlock a shortcut that lets the red lion into the dungeon so you can ride him out of it. It's been forever since I played WW but I remember it being really fricking braindead except the wind temple

It's to make the shortcut out of ganon's tower before the Phantom Ganon puzzle rooms.
There are two rooms, both have the laterns, one has a dark death pit, the other a small pond. The pit room has the laterns numbered in the order you need to hit in the pond room to make the short cut.
Literally last dungeon of the game at its ass end just gives away the answer, it's why it is such a meme.

I don't know OP, OOT was pretty fricking cool to me when I was a kid and I don't know how to explain why it was appealing at the time but it was. The final showdown was a visual and musical masterpiece I guess.

It would be another 10 years before a "post-souls" world existed and another 10 before anyone even realized they were in such a world. OOT reigned supreme for longer than any game can dream of, and is still a komfy, kino, klassic.
Zelda is a bad action game and Souls is just a slightly less bad action game. If you want good action gameplay go play Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Wonderful 101, not Zelda and Dark Souls, you play Zelda for the puzzles and the exploration and you play Dark Souls for its atmosphere and the trial and error aspect of it.

Haven’t seen an argument about that in awhile. I think people are fairly happy with dread and fearful about the state of prime 4. I know I am.
It's been awhile sure, but that was a large amount of Metroid discuss before Dread and Metroid Prime HD. Even just post Dread many Ganker users (yuh yuh skewed bs metric) were calling for Prime's death still.
As for Prime4 I'm not really worried. Yes it was announced in 2017, but so was Bayo3 and that only came out last year. Never mind Prime4 got a full restart on development under Retro in 2018? 2019? Pretty much every Switch game has had a 4-5 year development cycle. So Prime4 will be late this year (november/december) or spring/summer next year.

Dread was bloody fantastic and I hope Metroid6 stays strong. I have decent hopes on Prime4 for the time.
Ravenbeak was an awesome villain. Great boss fight. Really brought everything from the game into a proper conclusion. Dread had great movement too.

It's not forced, the infighting goes as far back as the early 2000s, it's bad blood and it's not going to change anytime soon. OoT is a relic of the past. It was kino when it released but it doesn't hold up anymore. Zoomers should just play other games. Just that simple.

Zelda has puzzles like figuring out you need to play sarahs song for daddy goron. You feel rewarded for figuring out what to do next, get frustrated at not knowing what to do next, then relieved when you figure it out. the combat is just a break from thinking about stuff.
