I just learnt that this is supposed to be Mr. House, not just any corporate representative. Look how they massacred my boy. This coupled with the writers just plain fricking up the years involved almost makes me wish video game writers wrote this show instead (and you know how fricking bad video game stories are)

who gives a rat's ass, it's a terrible show, like all vidyaslop shows/movies, the medium doesn't translate well.
why are fnv fans so whiny
Literally nothing about this scene ruins him. Shut the frick up.
Who would you have casted to play him?
Rene Auberjonois of course, and I would've made it before Fallout 4. Give it to Ronald D Moore or some shit and give me Fallout in the style of Battlestar Galactica.
>I propose... that we end the world. But on our terms. An orchestrated apocalypse.
This sounds VERY familiar
anyone got the pic of mr house where hes edit to look like hitler?
The irony of FNV gays simping over House, when the main underlying theme of his ending in NV is that House still thinks of you as an inferior homosexual with no future who's just a tool despite what you've done for him, is hilarious, and proves why the show was right to show how the only logical conclusion to any scenario in the NV ending is for all of the frickers involved to be razed from existence.
Y'know even if people don't remember the endings one can do an easy google search to prove you wrong.
Just watch a video of the ending. The entire point of New Vegas is a shittier but broader version of Bioshock (and the game even has a reference to it if you kill House).
Regardless of who you followed in that game, they were all egotistical corrupt bullshitters who were using you to achieve their own means and to do the dirty work.
There's a reason why you're called COURIER.
>The Courier, fair and kind-hearted to those in the Wasteland, ensured that Mr. House would keep New Vegas stable and secure for future generations. Mr. House afforded him every luxury at his disposal in the Lucky 38, out of gratitude - and a quiet sense of pride for his choice in lieutenants.
Maybe this doesn't mean "like" per se but it certainly doesn't indicate that House looked down on you.
House saw you as a useful tool and consistently rewarded you for doing his bidding. This is not because he likes you or thinks highly of you, he just wants to keep you because you're effective. He respects effectiveness. You also directly support his vision which he likes if you continue licking his ass. But if you stop doing these things (for him) you really see how much he respects you as an individual as he has his meltdown. You're suddenly the lowest and dumbest insect that anyone could possibly find.
>House [headcanon]
cool
It's not headcanon, it's pretty obvious if you simply listen to him. His plan is probably the best one out of the three but that doesn't mean that he's doing it for the naive notion of pure goodness of humanity. He's just being rational and effective rationality needs a cold heart. I know that it's hard for Ganker autists to understand human emotions and nuances in speech but that's exactly what House is. Heck, the fact that he's in a computer screen reflects this.
You're completely misinterpreting me. I'm just saying that House wants things to be effective and that goes above everything else. He destroys the brotherhood because they can't be manipulated into feeding his authoritarian ways but spares the NCR because he seems them as useful and effective puppets. To him, everything is a statistic that makes way for his vision of flourishing Vegas which leads to effective workers and the eventual spaceflight. He doesn't give a shit if you happen to die because of it, whether you're an enemy or a "friend". That's why he needs the robots in the first place, to force people to listen to him and him only.
>I'm just saying that House wants things to be effective and that goes above everything else.
>To him, everything is a statistic that makes way for his vision of flourishing Vegas which leads to effective workers and the eventual spaceflight
he thinks he can manage the Strip like some ANCAP giant casino with all factions being players and that the top winners will get to board his spaceship in the end, and if you refuse to play that game you simply get casted out like the Kings. This is the opposite of effective, it's literally the same deranged mentality that lead to the Great War and the Strip would have been torn by a civil war long before any of that could happen. It's the opposite of efficient. If the NCR are larping as Old World America, House and the Strip are just its sloppy leftovers
Yeah I don't think any aspiring leader really loves ineffective people or dudes that don't agree with them or want to support them. Your main complaint seems to be that he doesn't want to be unconditional best friends.
>This is not because he likes you or thinks highly of you, he just wants to keep you because you're effective.
So your average parents prior to the Industrial Revolution?
Anon are you actually moronic? He hires you to do a job for which he pays you, that's how the world works. If you were to start sabotaging him, he would get rid of you like everyone else. If I was building some futuristic empire and had one butthole constantly making it harder for me, I'd find a way to take him out of an equation. Stop pretending like this is some kind of shocking discovery.
Someone got their ego hurt it seems. Sorry, House isn't a preston ready to make you a general within first 1 hour of the game or a dad that makes you, a grunt, leader of covert science facility. Bethesda truly is superior in those matters.
a competent ruler > democracy
I 100% agree, I'm just saying the people that think House really liked you in NV are insane.
>the people that think House really liked you in NV
Yeah, that's why you choose free Vegas because by getting rid of the ncr, the legion and Vegas you open up the chance that a competent ruler may show up in the future
You know he's being sarcastic here right?
where is all the lore explained about vtech, big T etc i played fnv i must have slept over dialogue explaining all that stuff.
Did you really believe that House was some kind of a humanitarian? He's a genious rationalist with a massive ego, as was written in the show too. And secondly, it's actually implied in this particular scene that House isn't on board with the plan. If you watch closely, he's actually being very passive-aggressive and sarcastic about the whole "plan".
not canon. die in a fire todd, emil, amazon show runners
Retconning the fallout 4 protag into being that war criminal from 1 is kinda awesome and appropriate because it’s really the logical end point of bethesda fallout stuff just purely being about epic references to the franchise over any sort of actual thematic substance. Emil, Todd, and Amazon show runners should all die in their sleep tonight.
House never seemed that interested in the ideas Vault-Tec were proposing, the others were talking about potential experiments they could run in the vaults but House never discussed one.
>It's a fun idea...
>There's a lot of earning potential with the end of the world...
>But we're talking about making a significant investment, based on a hypothetical.
>How can you guarantee results?
After this, Barb reveals that they're planning to actually drop the bomb.
i killed House in game cause i fricked up quests and couldnt back out anymore, still think he was best option.
>There's a lot of earning potential with the end of the world
>end world
>human civilisation collapses
>money no longer has any worth
>earning potential
he was being sarcastic when he said that line
It doesn't change that everyone else around that table is being serious that they somehow think annihilating human civilisation so that there's no economy any more will be good for the quarterly report
>There's a lot of earning potential with the end of the world
This is utterly deranged and moronic. This is the equivalent of a shit tier comicslop villain that wants to wipe out the entire world for some petty reason despite him being in that world. What's the economic advantage of distrupting global and local trade and dismantling the production or extraction of new resources?
None
It misses the point of why the War happened and what lead to it, dismantling the entire premise upon which the series was built
>What's the economic advantage of distrupting global and local trade and dismantling the production or extraction of new resources?
This is why you're ngmi
Bethesda just ruined Fallout 1,2, and New Vegas.
>what ill do is, ill pay attention to something i dont like so i can keep getting mad at it
>being mad (offended) makes me feel like a victim, giving me an excuse for my failures
NMAgays should leave
Bethesda obviously hated that New Vegas is more popular than 3 and 4 hence they went out of their way to shit on the lore
He didn't agree with the plot btw, he said it had too many variables. It was just a brainstorm
