I just started this, which has been in my backlog for ages. My initial impression is that it looks better than I thought it would, though I’m getting bombarded by tutorials.
Is there much difference between easy and hard? Is there much reward for exploring outside the main quest?

A few of the best unique blades you can get come through exploration in certain areas. Usually dropping off of enemies you can fight.
Also the unique enemies act as fast travel points once defeated, and of course they also have good drops.

The worst part of the game are the tutorials, i recommend to watch some video tutorials on youtube if you don't understand some aspects of the battle system, even though, is really great
Now, how much time we get until the shitposters arrive?

I'm already here. This game angered me so much with its terrible decisions I feel obligated to post about my utter disdain for this game.

Hard is really hard and meant for NG+, don't do it for a first playthrough because it'll slow to a crawl. The tutorials suck in this game btw, you're unironically better off just looking up a real one or getting one from another anon on here (sorry i don't feel like typing one rn beyond saying "match bubbles a lot")
Exploring rewards you with more core crystals and potential unique monsters. Battle unique monsters, you'll become overleveled if you do them all but they're pretty fun and have a cool soundtrack. They're basically bosses and drop good items and help you learn how to play the game.

Rex will get special blades during the story, so don't waste core crystals on him, maybe just a couple to have as a place holders2ngs0v

xenoblade is a series that actively rewards you for venturing into uncharted territory.

As this anon said, don't try to get all the special blades assigned to rex, make sure to spread them out amongst the team. I will say as the game gets closer to the end, there will be 2 to 3 special blades that are damn near impossible to unlock. Just farm crystals and pray.

One of those “impossible party members” is also considered to be one of the best, and for good reason. 99% of rare blades you can get will end up being worse than Rex’s main b***h and other essential blades, but this is a notable exception. Your blades from core crystals are still very valuable so don’t think they are useless, especially if you got the DLC. Then you can find some great blades without RNG.

It's also worth noting the final 3 that are hard as shit to get vary from game to game. I had a hard time getting newk, parzival, and ursula, while some report zenobia as being hard to get.

        >I was trying to get all the rare blades before the new game+
        >Pulled Kosmos but i still missing two of them
        >Keep farming cores like an idiot
        >After fricking days i decided to look the probability to get those blades
        >Those rare blades were Theory and Praxis
        >Tfw i wasted all that time farming for no reason
And thats why you need to check which Blades you get with missions

My last blade that just refused to exist was that one with the massive extra pair of hands, gacha will curse you in one way or another.

Hard mode (bringer of chaos) is a ballbusting difficulty on NG once you get to the major boss fight of chapter 3 and beyond, it's meant for NG+

No, anything good is locked behind shitty blade skills you need to grind out before you can even access it. One of the worst JRPGs I have ever played in my life. Don't bother with this trash.

there's a certain skill you need to unlock to allow art canceling, it's been so long I don't remember what tree it's in or what it's called, but it takes until like chapter 3 to unlock it, so until then, the combat is slow and sucks.

Why did the developer think it was a good idea to have buttons eternally bound to opening tutorial windows? Were all the good monolith software developers at the time working on breath of the wild or what?

Monolith is a strange company and became stranger after Xenoblade X, with the development of BOTW. A lot of Xenoblade 2 was freelance work,.

I'm still amazed we got xenoblade chronicles x and xenoblade chronicles 2 in the span of two years. They're two of the best games of the last 15 years and basically got them back to back.

Is X actually good? I remember at the time hearing it had a bad story. I could try it on cemu

Is good but the focus of the game are the side missions, and you want to do side missions because the exploration is very good and the story progression is locked behind some of those

The game has tons of story, but it filtered the lazy zoomers that play these games because it was mostly text based lore instead 30 hours of cutscenes and exposition.

I didn't like the font they use for some text, is very small

You mean better mechanically or in story?

I mostly care about the gameplay.
I liked the story better too, but that's not saying much since I didn't like the story or tone of 2, so I liked the story of 3 better by default.

Mechanically yes, doesn't have the problems of 2, and add a lot of new shit, in story, depends of who you ask, i prefer the story in 3, but the story in 2 isn't bad at all
