And I think it's useless in the days of steam/gog.
Has it achievement integration like Retroarch w/ this other website? Forgot the name b/c I never tried it out.
In the old days there used to be xFire and arguably GameSpy but that went down the shitter b/c the reasons mentioned above.
I miss it b/c teh ppl used to be moar communicative and open on said platforms.
However I don't think that has something to do with said platforms but moar like how the old net used to be.

Just seems like a way of turning playing games in to a job
I simply just play what I feel like, be it something new to me on my backlog, or something I've played a million times.

I think if you're a #Gamer™ and gaming is your one hobby, it's a great tool for beating as many games as possible. For most people who just like to play games for fun and usually return to a handful of regular games, it's probably not that useful

Back in Gamefaqs days (shudder) everyone had a link to this shit in their signature
I think I used it once

I used it for a solid year (2016).
It's great how you can add any game, no matter how obscure, and set the rules for beating/completing a game yourself. Turning the little icons silver and gold is very satisfying.
The Multitap feature was also quite good. It makes you feel like you're part of a team, and I enjoy following other players' trials and tribulations and being a tiny part of their story. It's also a great way to find out about obscure new games. The most interesting title I discovered that way was エイミーと呼ばないでっ/Amy's Fantasies by C's Ware. One of the prettiest games I've ever played.
I also think the Now Playing section builds good habits. Don't have too many projects going at the same time, and play all your games regularly. I'm sure I've finished at least a dozen games I wouldn't have since then thanks to what it ingrained in me.

That all being said, I decided to stop using it.
It just takes too long to keep your profile updated. If you use the site for just five minutes a day, that adds up to ~30.5 hours a year. That's enough time to play through a decently long game.
It's great to use for building those good habits, but once you have them I think it's better to invest that time beating one extra game each year.
Nowadays I just keep my clears in a .txt file. I can update it in seconds and honestly it's pretty much just as satisfying.

      >If you use the site for just five minutes a day
Why would you do that? You set it up once and then update it when you finish or buy a game. I usually update mine during a credits screen.

How does everyone log the games they have played? Do you keep notes?

Lately I've started making little fan sites of the games I clear that leave a really strong impression of me and filling it with screenshots and tips and records of my scores and etc. It's been fun.

That's nice. When I was a kid I'd have a floppy disk and on it was a html site with a list of games I had played, each with a screenshot. I never uploaded it online it was just for me.

These days I have a .txt file and I make screenshot collages, which help me reminisce about the game

It's easy telling all the good games you've played whenever you hear their name, so whenever I check my list after hearing a name I don't recognize, it's something that completely sucks.

All I want is a site that lets me enter the date I started and finished a game and that shows me which games I beat in a year. Somehow none of those sites has that functionality

I used Backloggery for more than a decade, but decided to move on to an excel file. At least until they update the site revision and after that I might insert my list in it again.

    Good site 10/10

You shouldn't need a "backlog" it's an admission you're buying more games than you're playing. Valve would love you to make a Steam account, though

I've been putting them in a notepad since 2011 also dating when I finish them. Actually kinda cool to know the exact day I finished a game looking back.

I've been considering putting them on Google Sheets or something and rating them instead of just documenting them but haven't got around to it yet.
