>Vaporware >Riot's MMO is mostly made by WoW devs and will be a shitty WoW clone >Trusting Archeage ever
MMO's are dead because 90% of what made them fun and interesting was been usurped by the discord and wiki's. There is no budget or game on earth that can satisfy the loot treadmill shit that modern MMO pigs want and even XIV has given up on trying to release content on a regular schedule and they were the best at it.
MMO's as you know them from anime and your dreams was barely real to begin with and will never exist again. Best to make peace with that.
>There is no budget or game on earth that can satisfy the loot treadmill
That is quite literally the problem with modern MMOs. Get rid of that shit, get rid of iLVLs. get rid of raid/dungeon finder, get rid of flying, get rid all of the conveniences that do nothing but make the world feel empty. Bring back PvP, bring back friction, bring back player drama, bring back exploration, bring back risk and reward, bring back character building, bring back MMORPGs
That indie Runescape/Tibia clone with a forgettable name that was shilled yesterday and got utterly shat on by everyone unironically looked kinda nice to me (I do not care about graphics)

Did you mean "Archeage 20"? Anyone that still expects anything from that is beyond merely naive and in the territory of irredeemably moronic.
I haven't played it enough for my opinion to truly matter but it didn't put me in a flow state the way Tera did. I think Tera's animations were a masterclass when it came to readability and amount of particle effects (prior to the reaper). BDO looks pretty unreadable and it gets even worse at higher levels.
Yeah I actually spent hours studying TERA's animations. There was a glitch where you can go slow motion and seeing the animations slowed down was honestly breathtaking. Never seen a game like it.
>Ashes of creation
Looks like absolute shit. I have no clue how people can look at that trash and think it looks good or any of the moronic ideas it has. It has a lot of ideas that only sound cool in your head because you embellish them about how cool it could be without actually playing it. >Riot's MMO
It could be good but we know basically nothing about it. For an MMO to be succesful it needs a ton of money and a big name to draw in a crowd to establish a good population. Riot has both, its just if they drop the ball or not. Hopefully since stuff like LoL is a pvp game it will have decent pvp and open world pvp. If its an mmo with open world pvp without a horrible system like ashes of creations corruption system, thats enough for me to play it. >Archeage 2
Looks like it will be a game that will at least be fun to get to max but end game will probably just be autism.
The problem is open world pvp mmo attracts a certain kind of player, and that kind of player really likes to make other players miserable. the miserable players leave and the pvper doesn't really ever spend enough money to make up that lost revenue. Just the notion of open pvp is enough to dissuade players who would otherwise spend money.
because they have survival and BRs. why would these people with competitive brainworms play a genre were every single instance of world pvp isn't decided by skill but is instead just gear

Devs do. They have to pander to these pepple because they're the only ones still playing mmos. >MMORPGs are one of the few genres that have not grown ever since gaming exploded into mainstream.
They haven't grown at all. They all copy the same formula from over two decades ago. >I don't think any MMO has even hit 2m subs except WoW.
Lineage 1, Lineage 2 and Aion had over 2 million at their peak. No idea about XIV since Square doesn't publish their player numbers, but judging from their earnings reports, it's likely that xiv has a few million subs too.
An MMO without world pvp isn't worth playing, it becomes a sterile; boring world without danger. Might as well play a regular multiplayer co-op game at that point, those do a better job at combat and PvE anyway.
just the way zoomers are. If its not going to remotely entertain the idea of a level playing field, they won't care. These are the same homosexuals who care about tier lists and meta and will complain endlessly about some perceived "balance" issue. You don't want these Black folk playing your game.
theres too many people who are either full time NEETs or crushed by the grind of modern work life for MMOs to ever be remotely balanced again. you will always be left behind unless you are a fricking loser NEET who has no shame about investing 100% of their time and effort into a fake life because theres a lot of other weak homosexuals desperately looking for any escape
And that makes them shit.
Poopsockers should by right have an advantage. Because if you can't get ahead by spending time on an MMO, the only alternative is that you can only get ahead by spending more money on it, which is always worse.
If you can't put at least 6 hours every day into an MMO, why are you even playing?
Your time is over poopsocker, most devs realized how destructive your behavior is and they'll do anything to prevent you from ruining the game for everyone. You can always go back to vanilla WoW PS's and grind rank 14 again though.
ah, yeah
that's why every single overly casualized MMO fails out the gate
the time of the poopsocker is over!

Your gym analogy doesn't really work here, poopsockers demand an extremely grindy time sink or else they run out of content really quickly and complain. Normal players don't want their games to be excessively grindy, since the overwhelming majority of players aren't poopsockers it makes sense to tailor the games for them.
