I just wish someone blatantly copied Fallout 4 so we could have seen an alternative to the series
I am always in the mood to chat about this infuriating game as there are so many things than annoy the frick out of me and could have easily been better but its one of a kind and literally no other game comes close to the joy of exploring Commonwealth
fricking hacks, this could have been a 9.9/10 but now its an infuriating 8.5/10

I did about 4 full playthroughs and put about 500+ hrs into the game and I can tell you it was a solid send off game to a defunct shit company not worth looking at anymore.
what is your current feeling towards starfield?
Starfield looks way better than Fallout 4 in every way
For me it's a love/hate gave
If I force myself to get over how stupid a lot of it is, it's fun. For me it's downloading 200 mods and then building custom settlements for 500 hours while also making them as functional as possible for the NPCs.
I played fallout 4 when it got released for like 20 hours and never touched it again
Should I pirate it again, and are there any essential mods to fix bugs? Like an unofficial patch?
Spoonfeed me thanks
Also any decent modpacks that aren't coomershit?
It's still a good game. There are about 10 billion mods, but there is an unofficial patch. You will need the script extender, and then curate your own mods list for the best experience.
Does Mod Organizer 2 work with it? That's what I used for Oblivion and Skyrim and shit. I'll go take a look though thanks.
Yeah MO2 is what you want to use. Then just go into the all time top mods in the Nexus and see what looks good.
Cheers, sounds simple enough then thanks.
you really mean you wish beth made a new vegas type spinoff instead of 76
yes! 100%, it would have been a great game as FH was everything 4 could have been on a smaller scale
they proved they could do it once they wanted to
yes
unironically one of my biggest gripes as well
if there was even the slightest change, something like "institute made themselves public last year and made false promises to people so folk came, they vanished 2 months ago and now things have fallen apart" it would have been so, so cool
like, whole boston could have been surrounded and shileded by a radioactive fog that went away for some reason a year ago or so, that's why everything is in that state, etc
100 metres away from fricking drumlin diner is a military checkpoint with unlooted APCs and ammo craters, how? why?
My biggest problem is how the setting is portrayed. Apparently its been 200 years since the destruction and people have been back on the surface for many generations. But there's still corpses and shit everywhere that people have lived for over a century. Skeletons that have not disintegrated or been scattered by wildlife/mutants. Everyone uses destroyed 200 year old furniture and has no ability to create new things. Even the furniture the player "builds" comes out as old and destroyed.
The structures people live in are dilapidated 200 year old buildings that are about to crumble or literal shanty shit a homeless person would build. Somehow all the power poles are still up and even have wiring. Somehow the old destroyed concrete is still everywhere and no one ever bothered to clean up anything at all for 200 years. There are roads but no one bothered to clear them of old cars. Somehow pristine looking rubber tires are everywhere despite being 200 years old and having been in a nuclear explosion, and of course no one bothered to clean them up.
It's just really fricking stupid and all the Bethesda FO games have something like that, but FO4 has way more old shit that should not be there.
part of the appeal is that everything looks like shit has been destroyed and never properly repaired, so the real issue is that the lore says the bombs fells 200 years ago and they can't change that.
Would have been nice if they put some thought into designing "self made" shit that still looks post-apocalyptic, but made by people who aren't morons. Or at least some kind of cope explaining why nothing got fixed as
pointed out.
The closest thing to self made things we get are the "pipe guns" that even a 12 year old would do a better job of building. What's worse is you can find them in safes that have presumably been locked since the apocalypse, so what does that even mean? People were making "guns" by tying crude pipes onto 2x4s with wire before the war?
Just fricking stupid
Why not just set it earlier? It's on the opposite side of the country from Fallout 1/2 so they had a ton of freedom with the lore
no, because 76 has the same thing but better as a) game is set 20 (or 21) years after the bombs and b) major settlements have post-war construction and signs of life but have experienced a downfall one way or the other with some other locations not being reclaimed after the war, making all parts of the map extremely interesting places to explore while not falling for the "noone was here for some reason lol" shit 4 did
76 has a proper questline for 3 years now but its very arcade-y and things have no wright to them, while F4 builds up for setpieces over and over again as a curated singleplayer experience. and 4 is modable.
it is true that every 4 enjoyer should go and play 76 at this stage but they are different experiences
for example, 76 has Charleston, a huge town that was inhabited for 5 years after the war with various factions building up and interacting with eachother, but raiders blew a fricking dam and flooded the town, wiping out a prospering post-war settlement
when you explore the town you see remnants of this successful post-war government, learn more about raider-survivor fights and still get to explore a derelict town as some parts of it were not touched by the interim government yet and parts that were renovated were still in disarray due to bombs falling 5 years ago
this is what 4 should have been and I also believe its what they wanted to do as well but had to stick with CW BoS flying in with Liberty Prime and shit due to how popular they were with normies
dilate
east coast/midwest was hit way harder than the west, AND has more nuke stockpiles/vital population than the west. hell the vault dwellers of 76 are in nuclear war themselves with leftovers
if beth plays it right they can make it like the coastal powers have switched, we havent seen the west coast outside of vegas a literal desert no mans land. also setttlement and amenity limitations are purely gameplay faults
I think Bethesda understands it was a weaker entry. They departed too far from the openness their fans actually want. Doing a lot of research into starfield reveals to me that they’ve listened and learned since, fo76 was a big wake up call too. I’m pretty confident starfield will be a return to form. (Ie daggerfall, morrowind)
Looking back at interviews about previous games versus fo4, their focus had shifted away from you telling your own story and doing whatever you wanted, to them telling you a story and doing what they wanted. It seems fairly apparent that starfield is going back to the previous model, and removing their insistence on forcing you into their narrative. I am excited.
bro your Outer Worlds?
That's what Starfield is, fallout 4 in space
Not really, it’s more like daggerfall in space.
I highly doubt it'll have the range of random gameplay options daggerfall had
Ganker be like "i want to play fallout 4"
>but its one of a kind
isn't 76 the exact same shit but with MP
No, there are barely any MPCs in 76 and there's no real quest line.
>fallout 4
>8.5
homie if Fallout 4 is 8.5 then Fallout 1 and 2 are 20/10 and they're fricking not.
Learn how to rate shit, you dumb Bethesda Black person.
3/10
It's just Minecraft with guns
The Elder Scrolls are better than fallout
>I just wish someone blatantly copied Fallout 4
That's what the outer worlds is
