Few quality of life improvements along with recent patch general buffs. There were alterations on Assassin charge skills to make them a bit better, synergies on Amazon physical bow skills, among others. Then quality of life changes like being able to auto loot gold (you can toggle this on or off), larger stash with many shared stash tabs for an account, you don't need to continually refresh a gamblers inventory to gamble for an item you want, and quick casting (you can hot key a button and when you press the button you activate the skill rather than pressing a hot key to select the skill then pressing one of the mouse clicks to activate it).
I think they may have added a few more level 85 areas as well for end game grinding.

Online works fine for the most part now. It literally is just Diablo II with a 3D renderer on top.

They also changed barbarian whirlwind to be effected by IAS. I think the general consensus is it's stronger at lower lvls but either the same or weaker at endgame. And now you need tons of IAS to hit certain breakpoints which limits gear choice. Some people playing ww assassins in pvp duels might lose that playstyle now or be less effective.
Avoiding Blizzard like the plague is a good rule of thumb, anon.

+1 to all skill is hundreds of damage, 25% mana and 20 mana. Unless you're aiming for FCR breakpoints, with a caster its the best ring in the game.
with 2 sojs most casters even without mediation aura can maintain their mana pool for like 5 times longer without pots than without them because of how passive mana regen scales. on top of that, play a 98%+ ES sorc and suddenly your eHP increases by almost 50%.
BK ring is better for physical damage dealers but soj is definitely a bis ring for a ton of builds
Past lvl 20, each +1 to a skill is ~10% more damage. And 25% to your mana pool is huge. The other +skill ring is Bul-Kathos, which gives life instead of mana as well as life steal.
It’s one if not the best remaster of a video game ever made which also means it’s still D2 and may feel dated to a younger audience. I like it a lot.

Play project d2 instead. a lot more fun then regular d2 if you don't want to play d2r. D2R however really is beautifuul to look at (outside the forced censorship) Before you call me a blizz shill, I didn't buy Wc3R, WoW Shadowlands or any overwatch product.

strangely enough, every nu-d2 mod is also terrible, funny how removing fun from the game makes your game less fun.
The D2 demake is just so unaesthetically pleasing. It's so fricking jarring to me because one of the reasons I bought Blizzard games when I was a kid in the store was because of how cool they looked with the boxart. Blizzard had style back then and now it's all been stripped away. So fricking soulless.
It’s good same as D2. People just hate it because it’s present day Blizz and are having to accept that D2 really just wasn’t that good.

It's vastly inferior to Diablo 2 and 1. Diablo 1 has athmosphere, a tightly pack pacing, good dungeon crawling horror gameplay. Dialo 2 has excellent music, graphics for it's time, gameplay and itemization. Diablo 3 took years to become somehow enjoyable yet worse then D2 at release. FFS, it had real money auction house integrated in game, forced wow like max level loot scaling making your entire leveling gear trash. Graphics are trash and have always been, the removal of inferno was a dumb idea and 16 torment difficulty is moronic just as much as dealing billions of damage.

patch 1.09 is the one I play, so this new remaster has nothing I'm interested in.

from who? Ganker morons crying over a man face on a character they'd never see? The game was insane on launch, d2jsp was poppin like 13 years ago. The last update released ladder and actually made updates to the game, the remaster made the game gorgeous. If you loved diablo 2 before you'll love it now. If you don't want to give blizz money just wait for the pd2 d2r release. it'll come out eventually.

Not him, but the game had a lot of issues on launch. Server instabilities with constant crashes and chars losing progress. "This character is already in a game" bug preventing play until the next server reboot. Going in and out of town 50 times in one game guaranteeing a crash (so good luck refreshing shop). First they had to add game creation limits and then they had to add queues as a stopgap while they spent at least two months with multiple patches to server infrastructure until they finally reached a stable point.
I love D2 and D2R and I've been playing since it released, but let's not pretend it was a smooth launch.
I don't like how they made the paladin in the new version. Hammers look goofy and the holy shield looks weak.

The mod support is exactly what they said it would be. It works surprisingly well since you don't have to remove or disable them at all to switch over to online; the game takes care of that for you.
But the loss of open battle.net is still huge, and a big fricking shame.
