Convergent evolution doesn't work like that. Animals evolve to have analogous body parts due to them being exposed to the same stresses/having to fill the same niche.
Birds and insects "need" to fly = they "evolve" wings. The wings are made differently (one is an adaptation of the upper limbs, the other is a specialized organ), but the end result is the same, having a thing that if you move it quickly let's you ascend in the air. That's convergent evolution.
That almost all animals that live in the sea have a "tube-like" form so they can move better in the water is convergent evolution.
That a fricking eel looks like a mole or a mushroom looks like a jellyfish when they live in completely separate environments, are exposed to completely different inputs and fill completely different niches IS NOT convergent evolution. It's, at most, a coincidence.

Regional Fake is less descriptive than convergent is, even if convergent is "technically wrong". Regional Mimic would be better if we wanna make that argument. But as it stands though, right now the majority of players have agreed on convergent, so convergent it is

1) johtoian Typhlosion isn't allowed to have nice things, because Game Freak hates Typhlosion fans and intentionally created it to make CHARIZARD look stronger (evidence: pretty much the last 30 years)
2) it’s part of the second batch (first batch implies the existence of other batches)
3)none of the legends starters are getting special snowflake Tera forms (Owl is the only legends starter that was ever shilled and even that can’t compare to the top shillmons)

It wouldn't have gotten a regionalisation if that were the case. In fact it received the same amount of shilling EVERY starter received, it's because it FAILED while getting that shilling that it got a regional form. The other two were from 12 and 23 years prior to release of Legends but Decidueye was from the last handheld Generation just 6 years previously (the youngest by generation a pokémon's ever gotten a regionalisation).
