I like BDSP more than SV and I'm tired of having to pretend otherwise

Magmortar was a mistake
Both Magmar and Magmortor are shit. Ironcially, the good mon in that line is the fricking babby
Me too, I liked BDSPiss more than SwoShit and ScatVomit.
Your life was a mistake. Magnortar is awesome.
But do you like BDSP over DPP?
I still like og PT over BDSP of course
>"BDSP > SV"
well no shit
Sinnoh > Paldea
gen 4 gameplay (even updated) >> nu-gameplay
If you want to get down to it Gen 4 is the start of where the really cancerous modern stuff started in Pokemon.
No, that's Gen 5.
Gen 5 was the start of:
Regions taking place outside of Japan for the mainline games
Pokemon being designed by non-Japanese people
No Game Corner
No Pokemon Stadium-esque/3D battle simulator game
No third versions
Poison not affecting you outside of battle
Badges no longer needed to use HMS
Elite Four not having a set order
The mainline games being mostly in 3D
Needing software to transfer from the previous generation
Team preview for the mainline games
??? Type removed
No more Secret Bases (except remakes)
No more contests (exceptremakes)
>Regions taking place outside of Japan for the mainline games
So what
>Pokemon being designed by non-Japanese people
There's bad and good from both
>No Game Corner
don't care
>No Pokemon Stadium-esque/3D battle simulator game
PBR was phoned in
>No third versions
so what
>Poison not affecting you outside of battle
good, it was nothing but a minor annoyance
>Badges no longer needed to use HMS
HMs are the WORST thing about older games
>Elite Four not having a set order
this is good
>The mainline games being mostly in 3D
gen5 had the best sprites in the series by far
>Needing software to transfer from the previous generation
This shouldn't even be a thing.
Every single mon should be obtainable in every single game
>Team preview for the mainline games
This is mostly a positive change, but I really do miss dedicated leads
Shadow Lugia was Westerner made.
That's literally just a recolored Lugia
>Regions taking place outside of Japan for the mainline games
Yes, and?
>Pokemon being designed by non-Japanese people
Shadow Lugia was Gen 3. Also, who cares? Both sides have made designs I don't like.
>No Game Corner
That was actually Gen 4, if you lived in PAL regions. Also, this wasn't Gen 5's fault - blame the stupid way games are given content ratings.
>No Pokemon Stadium-esque/3D battle simulator game
Battle Revolution sucked.
>No third versions
Having actual sequels that advanced the story, on top of adding a ton of extra shit to do, is so much better than doing the "obligatory third version" that it should be considered illegal to pretend otherwise.
>Poison not affecting you outside of battle
It was a minor annoyance at best. Removing it detracts nothing from the game.
>Badges no longer needed to use HMS
HMs are abject garbage, and they got progressively worse in every game, reaching its absolute nadir with DPPt. Black/White not made them purely optional for exploration
>Elite Four not having a set order
And this is a bad thing... how, exactly?
>The mainline games being mostly in 3D
And Black/White pushed the DS to its limits as a result. It was great. Skyarrow Bridge still gets me.
>Needing software to transfer from the previous generation
This isn't the fault of the games, but GameFreak, but okay, fair.
>Team preview for the mainline games
Again, I think this is a fair complaint.
>??? Type removed
It was used for one move, and required a bunch of extra exceptions made specifically for it. Curse's change to Ghost-type was completely logical. This feels like grasping at straws for things to complain about.
>No more Secret Bases (except remakes)
Three fair complaints. Secret Bases were cool.
>No more contests (exceptremakes)
I doubt many people actually liked Contests, though I kinda did.
>I doubt many people actually liked Contests, though I kinda did.
I liked Contests
I liked movies in BW2 a lot too once I got into them
I liked Contests for what they were. I started to like them a bit less once I learned just how utterly arcane it was to make quality PokeBlocks, though that's more about PokeBlocks than an issue with Contests themselves.
>Needing software to transfer from the previous generation
at least it was free unlike in nu games
its gen 6
If you mod it with luminescent platinum you can turn off the exp share and it becomes a top tier pokemon game.
i'm replaying oras and having fun. its honestly kinda weird how well the gen 6 games run compared to the other 3d titles
I really like bdsp but I got filtered at the battle tower grind, really take for granted how easy shit is in modern games when in bdsp you have to farm BP for EV training items with shitmons before you can actually not get cheeks clapped. It's a shame bc they really added a ton of trainers and stuff to the tower.
Love the radar though that shit is busted
BDSP battle tower is the best version of the tower clone in the entire series, I never see people bring that up, I assume most of them just think it's the same as the DP battle tower.
What's different?
Tons of stuff, you can also fight gym leaders there iirc but I didn't do that part.
Mother fricker, like what?
Reminded me of the Garchomp-slayer Ambipom in the Battle Tower. Honestly BDSP's boss battles/facilities were on a different leve. It's a shame these types of sets and battles are locked behind BDSP though.
They had no reason to go this deep but they did and that shows people on the team did care and maybe just didn't have the technical know how in some other aspects.
If SV big battle academy dlc doesn't have deep cuts like this it'll be all the more disappointing
>If SV big battle academy dlc doesn't have deep cuts like this it'll be all the more disappointing
SV has to have the most disappointing post-game. Even SWSH had the battle tower on release, and as easy as it was, it was still something to grind alongside dynamax raids.
SV’s postgame is so bad it makes it worse than SwSh by default
And SwSh are dogshit
BDSP was so shit i didnt want to breed and train Pokemon there, i fricking wish we had something like this in SV.
it would be like 3.5/5 without the chibishit
all gen 1-7 games are "chibi"
Yeah thats why PLA and SV are the best ones.
BDSP just needs an Off option for the amie buffs and its a 8.5-9/10 pokemon game
renegade platinum is pretty great at least
I wish BDSP didn't axe all the secret base customization options tbh
I feel that because it plays like a classic traditional Pokemon. Can't wait for BW remakes (even though it'll probably be more ILCA slop)
Who exactly is making you pretend to like one game over another?
What’s the issue here? He’s not standing on a raised platform?
Exactly
It’s a bad remake and has no reason to exist when Platinum does.
>having to pretend otherwise
absolutely no one's forcing you, dipshit
Sinnohzooms are beyond salvation
