she's a decent addition to BG1 where none of the characters had any real story, but there's absolutely no reason to romance her in BG2 when Aerie, Viconia, and Jaheira are right there for the taking
Neera sans dialogue is a decent addition to 1 just because she's a non-specialist mage that doesn't require you to dual class Imoen. She's redundant as frick in 2 though, even if I do like the battle at the end of her quest.

*rolls "your party loses all their gold" twice on the wild magic table on a single playthrough*
What's a good way to get into this game bros, it's seems like there's a lot to like here, but i quickly get annoyed at watching my party miss 20 times in a row
To me personally the fact that I had played tabletop previously helped. In it you can miss a lot, but you’re supposed to abstract these shots and imagine (or if your DM is a prolific narrator, he will provide it) that anything could have happened from you hitting the air, to your weapon just glancing the enemy’s armor or hide, to the enemy blocking your attack with his shield, and in short, you’re supposed to imagine a dynamic and variated combat, whereas in the computer game there’s less room for the imagination, as you only see the sprites swinging and missing.

be born in the mit to late 80s and play it when you're 12
you need the accepting mind of a child where you don't rage at things that seem nonsensical and unfair and just accept them as the way things are
Your party isn’t actually missing that many times. Early on you only get one attack per round, every six seconds. To make the combat look more “dynamic” the animations show some fake feints and such that aren’t real attacks. Turn on attack rolls in the feedback and watch the combat log.
Oh no no no buddy.
You got to now romance her, put up with her being a selfish shit, meet her in 2 where she admits she just fricked some other guy while you were gone, and have her fail to save a bunch of people.
Anon, that's a man

>she's a decent addition to BG1
See that's where you're wrong, kiddo
>Aerie
not into elves
>Viconia
not into evil b***hes
>Jaheira
I'm not cucking her dead husband even though he deserves.
So you're a fan of being cucked instead when Neera goes on about the handsome boy she fricked in between BG1 and BG2?
>not into elves
You could have just left it at that.
>when Aerie, Viconia, and Jaheira
And Imoen!

Me too, OP. Neera is a based cutie.
I used to like her, now everything about her just annoys me.

If you don't feel it's too cheesy, teaching Sleep to a mage autowins 80% of the combat in the game
