I also liked the Yoshi game and also don't know what there is to really hate about it. You throw eggs and do Nintendo shit, it's not like it committed an unimaginable sin.
Some people hate it because it is not a proper sequel to Yoshi's Island and ruined the possibility of a true sequel.
Other people hate it because it featured 'baby' yoshis, and the baby yoshi design / sound from this game then became the default for all yoshi going forward instead of classic yoshi.
Otherwise its a decent game that is a decently cute platformer with GOTY music / level design and some not so good game design decisions.
It was C-lister unimaginative shit after the absolute glory of Yoshi's Island.
>piss easy >super short >no Mario game style secrets >bland pre-rendered graphics that I'm pretty sure they only hammered out after having their noses rubbed in it by DKC, except they really didn't know what they were doing so it came off more like a kid fricking around with 3DSMax and sticking balls together >that godawful stage-clear fart song music
Pretty much what the other anons have already said >too short >too easy >horrible follow-up to Yoshi's Island >forever ruined the Yoshi character and made him into a cringe baby character
Imagine if Nintendo had actually stuck with the "Yoshi's Island" style Yoshi games and we got another game like that every few years instead of what we currently get with the baby yoshi games
Its a game you work on to 100% and see everything. you are suppose to beat it in a few hours then replay it using different yoshis. Kind of like starfox.

I remember being really hyped for it as a kid. It was a fun game, but I was pretty disappointed with the unconventional way the levels played.

>and some not so good game design decisions
Eat your melons Apollo.
ABSOLUTE
BANGERS
For every one decent song, they just have to frick up twenty others.
I was disappointed because I beat the game in 1 rental period
did you do every level?
but what if they didn't have shoes haha
I was really into the game when I was little, but I don't remember actually winning the whole thing.
Just that song that played inbetween chapters permanently branding my psyche.

Everything was so amateur.
What is the fart song?
it's too easy and it's too gaga gogo
yoshi's island was better
Pretty much what the other anons have already said

Rental Bait. You can "beat" it in a half hour. 100% iut in less than two.
I liked it until I went back and played Yoshi's Island for the first time and realized what a shit sequel this game is.
>too easy
'sup homies.
I tried to clone it

Too easy and too short
