I really wish I could get into Wiz 6,7,8. I've played I-V tons and tons of times with every party combination possible, but there's something about the final ones that simply never appeal to me.

It is one of the best RPGs I ever played
though it has its flaws it is definitely underappreciated and should rank higher in all times best RPGs higher than BG 1/2
The only notable issue is the painfully slow combat movement, which can be fixed with a mod, IIRC.
There are other niggles, like some missing items (ex. Demon Doll), but those can be edited in.
And, of course, 2 of the 3 ending slides were not finished, but you can't really do anything about that.
mandalore recently reviewed "pathways into darkness" it actually looked pretty cool. the story element is the central focus i believe. idk i haven't played it. you might like it.
Also calling them Dungeon Crawlers no longer works for the same reason you can't find Rogue-likes by looking for Rogue-likes any more, because apparently anything that features a dungeon at any point is a Dungeon Crawler now.
Blobber is unfortunately the last remaining term that will deliver the games you are looking for.

Make sure you speedhack it, anon. Even people who love the game will tell you it's way too fricking slow otherwise.

World of Xeen is great if you enjoy campy sci-fantasy
The story and characters are both extremely bare bones though. Been is about relaxing while you watch your numbers go up
