I...love it. I'm in love with the game. Are the other games in the series as good as this? Are they better?

All souls games have their pros and cons. If you like ds3 you should try dark souls 1, and after that possibly dark souls 2 and then elden ring.

3 is peak gameplay-wise but I prefer 1 in terms of locations, atmosphere and NPCs.

This. I'm also on my first playthrough of 3 after beating 1 and 2.

This. The boss battles are more engaging and exciting in 3 than anywhere else in the series. I found it easier than 1, but IDK -- could be because I played them in order.

      DS1's atmosphere is unbeatable.

3 is decent. If you can get your hands on Bloodborne, it's probably the best one in terms of music and atmosphere. Elden Ring is the hot topic right now because it's so new and likely to get expansions soon, so that's another obvious choice. Dark Souls 1 is general considered the best in the DS series but to be honest it gets mediocre at the midway point when you fight bed of chaos.

I played them in reverse order 3,2,BB,1 and it was awesome. Don't like Sekiro and ER was not helped by RR and copy-paste design.

no they're all a lot better than dogshit 3

3 is by far the blandest game in the series in everything except boss design, so I'd say the others are better on average (with the exception of 2 which is equally flawed but for other reasons)

3 is a bastard Bloodborne hybrid. Play that.

DS1 and 2 are different but great in their own way.

Bloodborne is fricking shit compared to DS3. Bloodborne's difficulty curve is all over the fricking place, the atmospheres and color palettes are too samey throughout the game, with too many reused assets, and the boss battles feel more like cheese than a genuine challenge like DS3's

Dark Souls 1 is overall a much better game, I think, but Dark Souls 3 refined boss movesets and challenge to the best they've ever been across all three games, along with better quality of life features and is just generally a worthwhile sequel to the first game. But Dark Souls 1 is a much slower, meatier, atmospheric game with way better exploration and world design, even if playing it after 1 means you'll have basically no issues with the difficulty whatsoever.
Dark Souls 2 is a game that is way more fricking contentious than either, though.

Every time I start a DS2 run, I quick a couple hours in because everything about that game is horse shit. I don't think I'll ever see the credits because it's the worst FromSoft game in terms of its ability to keep my attention.

TBF the first couple of hours of DS2 are the most taxing and difficult and frustrating. Much of the rest of the game is unironically MUCH easier.

Pursuer is one of the toughest bosses in the game if you go in blind. In fact, I can't think of a single other boss in the game that caused me to die as much.

Me too, except I don't quit it and carry all the way to the end hating myself all the way through, and have done that approximately six times so far
The game has things that it deserves being praised for, but frick I don't like it very much.

It's subjective. Darksouls 3 is concentrated kino, you go from great moments from great moments with little to no filler.

It can be overwhelming and I definitely can see how one would prefer darksouls 1 where you have fewer kino moments but that leaves a greater impact. By being so great all the time ds3 cheapens its greatness.

Didn't play ds2 or elden rings

Dodgeroll breaks muh immersion. I'm sorry but his is the sole reason why I will never consider it great.

Nope, that's as good as things got, I enjoyed that game a lot and played till I basically felt disgust to open it.
