Is there any benefit to getting diagnosed in adulthood? I don't want neetbux because I enjoy working. I'm almost 90% certain they diagnosed me when I was a kid and then my family didn't do anything because they either didn't want me being treated like a moron or felt ashamed of me due to the stigma around aspergers/autism (or both). Sometimes I think that it'd give me a peace of mind, but at the end of the day it really wouldn't change anything because the only people that would know are doctors and I never go to doctors
I'm in the same position, down to my parents pretending nothing was wrong with me for years (my dad was afraid of how my grandparents would react.)
I have to say, though, it's a relief. My whole life, I watched everyone speed right past me on the road of life, and no matter how hard I tried, I could never "catch up"
