They beat back the relatively anemic first invasion attempt during the revolution.
The attack during the war of 1812 was a mixed bag. Canada got heavily pushed back at first and lost York, then things turned around and the front got to the New York Border. Then the Canadians and Brits got rekt at Plattsburgh and a couple other battles and the front was pretty much over after that.

Brits were doing most of the fighting in both cases. Canada at the time was a barely populated outside of Quebec, and the Quebecois were more amiable to the American side than to the British and it required military intervention on multiple occasions to bring the Quebecois to heel on the matter.

This would genuinely be an unstoppable superpower.

Canada is probably good to go already, with the US federal system well suited towards incorporating Canadian provinces as new states. Thanks to bills like the Affordable Health Care Act they could even keep their socialized medicine with the newfound states taking over management.

I would wait a few decades to incorporate Mexico though. They're going through a Chinese style industrialization right now. Probably best to wait for labor costs to rise and a couple of generations go through a better funded education system before we start adding Mexican states.

The US tried but they mostly banked on Canada wanting to be annexed and freed of colonial rule. It made things awkward when that turned out to be wrong and the country was going through growing pains with a large chunk of its population being opposed to having a standing army and wanting to stick to having just a millitia for a fighting force. Organization and discipline was terrible and not fit for invading another country. Then the Napoleonic Wars ended and the British could put their full attention back on the continent. The war just becomes a massive confusing clusterfrick at that point with the British somehow losing naval battles despite the US barely having a Navy and being far below Napoleon's fleet and a bunch of other shit that just leads to everyone wanting it to be over with. Very weird war tbh.

Have they made it where anywhere that can access a decent market can’t just infinitely inflate GDP? Also do Skyscrapers still stack if you build like 20 at once?
I played 2 full games in Vicky 3, Prussia-Germany run and Australia run and both were mostly me exploiting the German/British market for infinite growth.
German run hit an easy 1 billion GDP, the Aussie run was a bit slower but still ended up about 1 billion GDP.

Mexican anon here, only way Mexico can get rid of the cartel is for the US to annex Mexico
    >government is extremely corrupted
    >every politician is in the pockets of the cartels
    >any politician who's vocally anti-cartels either get threatened or killed
    >very restricted second amendment laws makes it almost impossible for people to own weapons

Who knows, Mexico will never return to its glory, cartels just have too much fricking power. At the sametime you homosexuals aren't helping by selling the cartels weapons with your Fast and Furious bullshit.
That's the reason why illegals keep coming into the USA is because you keep making Mexico even more unsafe

In the span of 170 years in hindsight we could have done a lot of nation building that probably would have been beneficial to everyone involved. Come on, Mexico was so weak that the French installed a fake king for a few years, do you really think US control would have been worse?

No but at a certain point there's only so much you can do before you stretch yourself too thin. Western US is relatively empty, Alaska only has 700k people living there despite being bigger than Texas. At a certain point it's a bit too much land to monitor.

The thing about kings is they don't have to win an election every few years to keep power. Democracies can't effectively absorb large groups of people who see themselves as culturally and ethnically distinct, especially if they also have their own national identity. That's why we couldn't absorb the Philippines, Mexico would have been the same shit.
