the absolutely MENTAL weapon crafting system they cooked up kinda ruined it a bit. i get sakurai wanted a casual game without minmaxing, but making a good weapon with the traits you want to play around with is ridiculously hard, which is moronic because the teamVS mode already takes weapon value balance into consideration
with a system so convoluted i can't really blame people for cheating their weapons in

easily the best game on the console. hard as FRICK on higher difficulties, too. the game i'm going to miss the most if i lose my 3ds. already kinda miss the multiplayer. i liked to use a wepon with perks that boost item usage and use item vacuum to get items from literally any point on the map and stack item boost spells and throw that shit into the unfortunate soul that first got in my sight. not the strongest, but some items are really really good
Controls sucked dick and the copes over those issue visible to this day are a big reason why this series will remain in the dumpster of history where it belongs

That's not fun, and beating the game wouldn't have felt earned, especially when part of the attraction is challenging yourself with higher difficulties to get better rewards.

Does this game emulate well? I'm trying to imagine how it would play with a mouse & keyboard/half of a controller but I can't imagine it feeling good.

they played really well in that you could be super precise and quick
but obviously were incredibly uncomfortable to manage on a portable device
needs waggle pointing shooting or just basic 3rd person shooter controls
