Stepping into hyrule field for the first time, trying to find that last cucco and figuring out how to defeat each boss is something that can't be replicated. I'm all burnt out of Ocarina of Time. I've been watching speedruns for years and got excited with all the tournaments and then randomizers. The only thing that does it for me anymore are multiworlds with a bunch of funny people but they just don't happen as often anymore.
I feel like my interest is no longer captured by Zelda. They all have the same pattern except for Breath of the Wild and that is about building which I dislike. The last Zelda I played was Twilight Princess and I didn't even finish it. I tried watching every other Zelda at some point and it just didn't give me the same warm fuzzy feelings as the nostalgia of Zelda II, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask for me.

I always thought getting alzheimers would bring back the magic for me but I do have a bad memory and even went back for some romhacks. I just don't get the same dopamine hit I used to get from games like this anymore. Now that I've found other genres that I like a lot more I would always get bored of Zelda and want to play those instead.

I moved on from zelda to dragon quest. scratches a similar light hearted fantasy adventure itch
