Can't wait to see P3 turned into P5!
I love remakes so much!
It's like, I could just play the older game but I rather see it stripped of its identity so that it can appeal to a wider and more modern audience!
I hope all games I love get remakes and we don't ever get new games again!
So much this. Final Fantasy X is rumored to be getting one for its 25th anniversary. I sure hope they remove that boring turn-based combat system and make it more like Devil May Cry.
He's consistently the "half undressed dude" in pretty much every iteration of P3, so it makes sense for him to not have his outer layers buttoned up all the way.
Jokes aside his starting stats in P3 are pretty bad, he used to look more antisocial and closed off rather than another sex god like Yu >Slacker/plain/timid
I still remember when Rugarell was obsessed with spamming this crap and made me install the PSP version on my shitty phone. And I had fun save scumming the whole game.
>we believe Persona 3 marked the actual turning point in the Persona franchise
He's absolutely right. P3 is when it clearly defined itself as separate from SMT without helplessly clinging to its coattails.
Besides this fricking encounter rate, P1's been pretty good so far, though I've only gotten to Harem Queen. It's not so unplayable that it needs a remake.
Last I checked the anime movies called him Makoto Yuuki. Which is moronic cuz they made some other character --a chick at that, also called Makoto in P5
Persona's reused names several times now. We had Yosuke in 1, who even had a portrait. 2 had Joker, not to mention having two fricking Tatsuyas in the same game. 3's Makoto came before 5 was released.
Makoto Yuki gets used for him in P3 Dancing, so that would have confirmed it as canon if not for the fact that nobody cares about plot-irrelevant rhythm game spin-offs
Why does only P4 protag get a 100% canon name? it was literally in the fighting game (which is canon) meanwhile P3/P5 shit is tossed into noncanon book movie trash which is not the games
>Pre golden P-team >P3, P4 and Catherine in 5 years >post golden P-team >p5, remake of catherine, remake of p3 and a billion horrible spin offs in the spam of a fricking decade
Little work for easy money. Just put in a generic fighting, dancing, musou or whatever genre they are doing, gameplay involving the characters of the original Persona, with a generic story that's just an excuse to replicate recognizeable quirks and stereotypes of the cast, and you are guaranteed to sell it to at least 20% of the original fanbase, plus possibly fans of the genre they are doing.
Same reason we get a lot of remakes. Even if remakes don't necessarily outsell new original games, they are just infinitely easier and safer to do.
It's almost like P3 and P4 were reusing Nocturne's engine and assets and P5 was built from the ground up. But I wouldn't expect Ganker to not be a bunch of ignorant morons
I've never felt like; so miserable
I've never felt like thinking this will last forever
Baby stay with me
You gotta tell now, your love came all over me
When stars're smiling moon
Wonder how look in your eyes
Just dialing your number
Failing to press the last two
Praying the heart
When the moon's reaching stars
If you hold me tight
Feeling heart beat so close
Will this last long?
The best part is with the updated, modern fusion mechanics you can keep a frickload of fusion spells this time around since you can always just keep upgrading a persona instead of fusing it away and never using it again.
Fusion spells are about to be better than ever.

Like you ever need to cover a gun weakness. Or can, for that matter.
Plus it's more exciting if I have even a 0.01% chance of dying.

Building optimized demons in this franchise sucks, it's always one active ability supported by like 10 passives. It's objectively good I'm not shitting on your build but it's just a really sad way to build a demon.

I know what you mean. I really felt that in SMT5 where there's just so much passive skill bloat.
The older games were better about this, but they were mostly random inheritance.
Something like in Raidou where passives get their own page would be killer.

Blasphemy to bring it up, but Tokyo Mirage Sessions did something similar, where its passive and Session skills had their own page from the standard attack skills. I liked it there as the game was built around those Session attacks and none of the passives were overly broken, but I don't think I want to see that shit in mainline SMT where pierce, Element boosts, and other damage passives are commonplace and can stack.

Nocturne had that problem as well if we're talking absurd endgame demons. Everything wants life surge, endure, null: mind if they don't null ailments naturally and some form of phys null. It's just harder to slot over useless skills then because demons are less customizable then than they are now. If I could slot in endure over hassohappa on this Shiva I'd do it in a heartbeat for example. The problem is passives are too strong and of all things TMS had the right idea of slotting actives and passives separately.
What is the logic behind thinking a modern remake of a persona game shouldn't be similar to the last modern person game (P5)? you homosexuals are just b***hing for the sake of b***hing at this point.
Definitely has that P5's stylish extravagance applied, but I think devs were able to mix in 3's version into this alright. Still not sure why they're pushing the water aesthetic so hard, but it looks nice, I guess.
Leaker here. These are some of the changes that will be in Persona 3 Reload:
>Hidetoshi's armband has been redesigned >Ryoji gets more development and a social link >There are more free time activities like darts and gardening >Fuuka has better navigation skills >the hot spring scene has been changed. When you get caught, instead of getting beaten up, Makoto Yuki and the other guys' towels end up falling down and they rush past the girls out of the hot spring naked >There will be more interactions between SEES >There will be several small references to Persona 5 including a reference to Shujin Academy and Sojiro
Correct me if my memory is fricked but I remember a magazine showed some early model of the game where protag had a hammer type weapon in the screenshot inside Tartarus.
>They don't know the rest of the lyrics are from space jam
>Iwatodai Dorm: So dance, while I put you in a trance
Let's party, put the boogie in your body
Work that body, work that body
Make sure you don't hurt nobody
>Space Jam: Party people in the house let's go
It's your boy "Jayski" a'ight so
Pass that thing and watch me flex
Behind my back, you know what's next
To the jam, all in your face
Wassup, just feel the bass
Drop it, rock it, down the room
Shake it, quake it, space
KABOOM
Just work that body, work that body
Make sure you don't hurt nobody
Get wild and lose your mind
Take this thing into over-time

That'd be sick, actually. I understand why people might be allergic to gameplay on a Persona thread though.
...please kill me.
I'm begging you
have you guys not played an Atlus game in the last 10 years or what
No
I didn't know Yukari was such a chestlet.
it's doover
OH NO
NOT OPTIONAL DLC COSMETICS
AAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE
I've pirated once all the DLCs and seeing P5 cast in SMT4 samurai outfits just felt wrong.
if it looks like p5, plays like p5, sounds like p5. It's persona 5
Yeah no.
They already announced dlcs? god i hate fatlus
frick atlus
>Junpei: "The hat stays on!"
No sir, I don't like it
NOT SO FAST
>Akihiko not wearing his jacket like Kanji did
ONE JOB, ATLUS.
He's not Kanji. He's Naoto.
He's consistently the "half undressed dude" in pretty much every iteration of P3, so it makes sense for him to not have his outer layers buttoned up all the way.
Tartarus was an annoying slog, and lack of control over evolution was the worst design decision. If they improve those, it might be worth something
Why’s he looking at me like that?
>friend told me how excited he is for P3 remake
>"It looks even better than 5"
>removed content vs p3p
why even play this over p3p?
P3P sucks
I hope they're not changing the way experience worked, I want to be able to gain more xp by going solo just like in the original.
DISTURBING THE PEACE
They went for his fuccboi design quite hard in this remake
He was supposed to be an incel, why have they made him frickable?
Are you moronic?
Jokes aside his starting stats in P3 are pretty bad, he used to look more antisocial and closed off rather than another sex god like Yu
>Slacker/plain/timid
I was just about to say this, the entire point in the original was that you guided this somewhat weird and antisocial goober to becoming a gigachad.
I swear to you guys I'm not gay but holy fricking sex, why is he so pretty
>why is he so pretty
Why are you getting aroused from our lord and savior, Jesus Christ and his 3rd coming?
Revolver Jesus isn't happy.
I still remember when Rugarell was obsessed with spamming this crap and made me install the PSP version on my shitty phone. And I had fun save scumming the whole game.
Like every remake ever, looks like a mixed bag. Not very ectastic so far. Would rather they make another game honestly.
TWO HUNDRED (200) AMERICAN DOLLARS
It's a collector's edition, that's the default price.
they literally went for cash instead of soul
remake persona 1 first
their isnt much creative freedom in remaking PS2 gen games
Persona started at 3
so important to the og dev team that they aren't even working on the remake
>we believe Persona 3 marked the actual turning point in the Persona franchise
He's absolutely right. P3 is when it clearly defined itself as separate from SMT without helplessly clinging to its coattails.
Besides this fricking encounter rate, P1's been pretty good so far, though I've only gotten to Harem Queen. It's not so unplayable that it needs a remake.
>went for cash instead of soul
Duh? It's a remake, the opposite of soul.
Big question, Can you still date the boy?
asking for a friend
Why does he look girly now?
Why is he posing like a bawd that's about to be mounted by her hung bull and railed to oblivion?
He's always been like that.
ok but did we decide if P5 guy is ren amamiya or akira kurusu
the infinite debate
I think technically Ren Amamiya is canon, but I refuse to call him that because it sounds moronic. I always use Akira.
Frick that, what's P3 guy's canon name? Minato Arisato?
Doorkun.
He doesn't have one. Basically every adaptation uses a different name.
I was replaying P4 last week and this random ass kid named Makoto appeared towards the end. A literal npc that they decided to name Makoto.
The stage play called him Sakuya
Bread Burner
I
WILLL
PERUSONNAAAAA
Aigis is the real bread burner though.
Makoto Yuki gets used for him in P3 Dancing, so that would have confirmed it as canon if not for the fact that nobody cares about plot-irrelevant rhythm game spin-offs
doorkun
Pasta Mama mia. Going with Akira is like going with Souji Seta.
Why does only P4 protag get a 100% canon name? it was literally in the fighting game (which is canon) meanwhile P3/P5 shit is tossed into noncanon book movie trash which is not the games
I think I saw somewhere that in the Switch version of P5, his default name is Ren Amamiya so make of that what you will
because Yu Narukami is unarguably better than Seta Souji
Ren sounds better. I think the kanji have a stronger meaning for his personality, too, but I don't remember.
Looks cool.
I hope the PC version doesn't ship with Denuvo
If P5 had, this one will surely have too. The only chance for Piratechads is if the game comes out on Switch.
Nah, it shouldn't take long after release before there's a working PS4 .pkg
Cute
I'll only buy this if I can change the course of events so Ken dies in Shinji's place.
>Pre golden P-team
>P3, P4 and Catherine in 5 years

>p5, remake of catherine, remake of p3 and a billion horrible spin offs in the spam of a fricking decade
blame hashino for gutting p team to make muh dream game which turns out to be just fantasy persona
Why do they make so many fricking spinoffs? Does anybody care? I've never seen anyone care about or praise those titles
Japan cares about the characters not the game
No wonder they spend so much on gachashit

I dunno how I feel about the new battle theme. I may be huffing nostalgia gas but it sounds like dogshit compared to Mass Destruction.
I've hated how repetitive Mass Destruction is since day one so I'm fine with it.
>Fusion spells confirmed.
>"Persona abilities... can be dangerous."
>Pyro and Frost Jack slapstick comedy attack.
I lol'd.
When they can take a fricking third of your max HP to use, yeah.

Fusion autism is fun. Kind of. P2's way of making new personas fricking sucked and I'm never bothering collecting all the Fool or mutated personas.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH holy frick I just looked up the wikipedia for it
It's trying too hard to be Persona 5
it's actually kind of cringe

So this is how Come on and slam and welcome to Japan happened...
They should remove level cap here or increase to like 999. Playing the same game if max level is 99 is boring and not worth the remake
Isnt it supposed to be Paulownia mall?
