I never got really far into Stardew Valley because I just couldn't stand the Hilltop Farm in my first playthrough. I still love the idea of a mountain farm, but is it worth it to play or should I go with another farm type?

The secret to all harvest moon games is that farming more than 4 3x3 plots is a waste of time and effort. If you can ever efficiently automate watering and harvesting then by the time you reach it you dont need it.

The space/layout on it is pure ass, yes, but the easy hardwood is awesome. Traveling to the secret woods once a day is a genuine pain.
Forest Farm is easily the best of the "bad farms". River and Hilltop are sheer cancer and objectively worse than Standard. Forest is more of a shitty sidegrade than a downgrade.
To be fair, you really don't need a lot of farming space. A greenhouse with ancient fruit and a shed with casks will make you rich no matter which farm you use
Farming space is very useful even after you have a greenhouse up and going. Once you can comfortably start monocropping the end game crops, their value skyrockets.

She gives you gifts (modded wives are usually better at this for obvious reasons) and repairs your fences and waters crops which is most of the time completely useless. And yes, but they only lose like 2 points of friendship per day. For comparison, you get 20 points of friendship for talking to them.

They will cook you food, including some pretty hard to make dishes, or give you a bomb (Abigail only). They also will occasionally water all your crops, fix the durability on all your fences, or pet and feed all your animals.
Also you can have babies.

Yes, but incredibly slowly. Not talking to a villager for an entire year will lower your friendship by 2 hearts out of 10. Giving them a gift on their birthday is enough to counteract that decay. You can also "overcharge" your friendship well beyond the limit by talking and giving gifts after they've reached max friendship.

You don't necessarily even need to farm. People have done no-crop runs and they're still viable for everything that isn't endgame content.

Mountain farm has the best aesthetic by far (I love the cliffs surrounding the farmhouse) but the quarry is useless as hell and just wastes precious space.

SO, the morgan mod, what folders do I need for it and whats just the dependancies?
First and foremost, all the mods in it are vastly up-to-date compared to the same ones in the Jas mod, so only add the equivalent ones from the Morgan modpack. The truly obligatory folders are the ones named Morgan _____.
Anything name morgan is for the mod itself, everything else is a dependency. The packs just come with dependencies for convenience to those who might not want to use nexus. Morgan got a fairly recent update so all the dependencies should be more or less good to go. Just don't update npc adventures yet as it's not supported by a lot of companion mods at the moment.

Because it has a ton of portraits in general and will get animated ones, yeah. Not that I mind too much, I'd probably stick with the original mod's portraits, but still, no choices. And I'm the opposite I hate the high res portraits.

To clarify I don't mean the art or anything, the one posted is very nice art, I just don't like the high res part itself for any portrait mods. I do really wish morgan in particular would get some alternative portraits though.
