It's amazing how it managed to maintain a higher level of quality than most rpgs despite being released over a decade ago. There won't be a game like it in a long time and it's infuriating.
I finished it once about a year after release, but the combined jank effect of Oblivion engine combined with extreme recycling of voice actors stopped me from ever replaying even with mods
I don't understand what's so good about this game. I finished main story in like 3 hours and rest is just fricking around in the desert seeing random shit such as ghouls wanting to go into space, being brotherhoods slave for a second or searching random abandoned vaults for loot that you use to fulfill another meaningless side mission.
Bethesda is dogshit when it comes to writing and NV isn't an exception, they at least put some work into missions unlike in skyrim where very few are genuine and then you just bring random shit.
The game is best played when you already have decided what faction you want to side with then dedicating your gameplay to doing all their quests and raping the enemy factions. You shouldn't have finished the main story until 1000 hours in. These games are meant to be played as a role player. Never to rush through the story. This is why moronic casual babies ruined the entire series when they cried that Fallout 3 actually ended just like the previous two games did. You're supposed to explore the world do all the quests find the unique items. The story is just there to tickle your balls. The amount of ways to do quests is what makes the game fun. The attention to detail and immersion like the ncr guy getting mad when you shoot the stupid memorial he's standing in front of. Bringing back disguises was smart and helped with immersion. This game was made in 18 months and shits on Fallout 4 in so many ways.
Well make it an obligated part of the main story, sounds like poor writing with lack of any connection to the main story.
>wasting more than 30 hours on a game like that
sorry I will play an unfinished MGSV for a better experience while bethesdababies learn to write games >they made starslop
oh well I guess they won't
I don't even understand what Varg is complaining about. He just started playing, probably on medium difficulty, as a level 1 character with a shit gun in a FPS rpg. And then after firing a couple of shots he kills a powder ganger and uninstals the game?
Perhaps it brought back some memories for him
because a gunshot should kill someone in one hit but it's to be understood that it takes around 8 rounds to kill a single enemy on early levels since it's a mediocre rpg
also >fps
if you were talking about fallout 4 then I'd somewhat agree but I can't I'm sorry
Obsidian worked on NV btw. Bethesda just published it. You never hear Todd talk about New Vegas for a reason.
yeah I know, still the only good thing about new vegas is the setting
Well if it were a bait then I guess it worked? I'm just giving my genuine opinion because I never understood what's so good about a game with randomly thrown objectives that do not correlate with how the main game actually plays.
>sounds like poor writing with lack of any connection to the main story.
everything is connected to the main story besides the stuff like the ghouls and random factions like the groups of civilians. most of the quests involve some faction that is involved in the main story somehow. You can tell you're supposed to do all the quests before finishing the main story because that's how you see the cutscene to see how the quest got tied up. If you beat the game and didn't do the quests you missed a lot of cutscenes.
Funnily enough as much as I like New Vegas the setting is the worst out of all the games. Unless you're talking about Vegas specifically. Half the game feels like an empty desert and not in a good way like Fallout 1.
Well you can somehow bypass all those sidemissions and still get the same result, nothing will impact the ending that you chose even if you visit everything. >desert
idk I just like desert in games for some reason
>I finished main story in like 3 hours
What no u didn't
yeah you won't get me to play your game Todd, sorry
>Well you can somehow bypass all those sidemissions and still get the same result
That is what makes the game special to me. People complain about the cazadores and nightcrawlers in the beginning of the game basically gatekeeping you from rushing to Vegas and forcing you to take the path that follows the main story but if you aren't moronic you can fight your way to Vegas the second you start playing the game kill an NCR soldier take his disguise and ride the train into Vegas and bypass a ton of bullshit like the King quests or paying the toll.
The final end game scene is basically the same depending on what faction you choose to side with but it is cool seeing all the people you interacted with and how they ended up in the end of the game after you did all the quests and finally beat the game. The cutscenes will be different depending on how you ended the quests. It tied it all up well.
>Well make it an obligated part of the main story, sounds like poor writing with lack of any connection to the main story.
You're a filthy fricking casual with a shoddy attention span.

>SEE I POINTED AT LITERALLY WHO STUDIO IT MEANS ITS GOOD
that's the point, I don't play the fricking game after I finished the boring story, you can't one shot everyone like normal guns would actually work at critical places such as head unless you use a sniper rifle or very close ranged shotgun
either way I haven't seen obsidian publish anything notable besides new vegas, I feel like it's just a way for diehard fans to shill them because they made rick and morty in the desert
I feel like a lot of Fallout New Vegas fans are people who like the idea/world of Fallout but are too big of pussies to play the older games so they mention NV to hide that they also love slop like Fallout 3 and 4
that's not a high bar at all
New Vegas fan typically don't play video games
>trannies don't play games

Trannies are the most avid gamers out there albeit, just look at speedrunning.
Is Neo vegana the only game you played?
It's amazing how it managed to maintain a higher level of quality than most rpgs despite being released over a decade ago. There won't be a game like it in a long time and it's infuriating.
>hastily made slop is actually good because 10 popular youtubers said so
Fallout 3 is actually a polished game with a GOOD open world, for starters.
sorry about your dead series, ruby
I think the story depth of New Vegas with the atmosphere of Fo3 would have been perfect
I finished it once about a year after release, but the combined jank effect of Oblivion engine combined with extreme recycling of voice actors stopped me from ever replaying even with mods
For me it's la longue carabine.

if this game came out 10 years earlier you would just miss all 8 shots because you made a moronic dogshit build then you'd rageuninstall it.
>if this game came out 10 years earlier you would just miss all 8 shots because you made a moronic dogshit build then you'd rageuninstall it.

Except the time he praised obsidian in a AMA
>Bethesda is dogshit when it comes to writing and NV isn't an exception
I don't even know how you play the game and still get this wrong
>SEE I POINTED AT LITERALLY WHO STUDIO IT MEANS ITS GOOD
that's the point, I don't play the fricking game after I finished the boring story, you can't one shot everyone like normal guns would actually work at critical places such as head unless you use a sniper rifle or very close ranged shotgun

The most popular Obsidian games are built on the foundation of other devs work. It says a lot about them
