If she was anything like the woman in the 6.55 quest she would have. Reminder, she struck a bargain with Zenos of all people to go and help you. She kept calm when Y'shtola was bleeding out infront of her and everyone else was panicking. She also had her fair share of combat encounters already as WHM.
But I guess just doing a full 180 and becoming "Relm at home" is the so called "Character development" people seem to miss with every other character in the MSQ.

I am so surprised they seemingly do so little with her. She gets shafted on almost all of the expansion MSQs and has almost no side content to her name.
She can't really get a plot or character development because it will eventually mean she has to sit things out, or people get tired of her being everywhere. That means you can't shill her in advertising or merch as much.
So instead she gets used as the magical instruction manual and occasional 'pls rescue her she's in mortal danger but it's not actually mortal danger', just to ensure she's always around.

It's this shit that's made me switch to JP voices, even though there are ENG voices I enjoy. I'm already having more fun in fights like P12S, where it turns out Athena can actually have emotion in her voice instead of simply bellowing at you the whole time.
SE really backed themselves into a corner on this one. Even if everyone hates Wuk Lamat's ENG voice, SE can't change it without accusations of "giving into transphobia" or whatever. Best case scenario is that they somehow bench Wuk Lamat, but that's just not possible when she's such a central character to the story.

That's not true. The recasting didn't happen because they were shit (which they was, I still don't know how anyone approved Cid and Alphinaud), it happened because of money reasons. US voice acting union started demanding more money for roles and even went on that one big strike a few years after Heavensward was released. Square just went with a different British agency instead

While true, usually that's the .5 trial that at least has an extreme. This is an extra trial and comparing it to Rathalos or Varis, its just the worst one by far for not having an extreme or anything of note to farm for.

Because lore guys dont matter in XIV. Unlike in WoW nearly all the lore is either spelled out precisely ingame or the literal LORE book for niche subjects. In WoW you need lore people because a ton of incredibly important things just arent in the game. They're in obscure books that arent published anymore. They're offhand things said by the devs 10 years ago, etc. Theres almost nothing a so called lore person could tell me about XIV I didnt already know from playing.
I think a lot of people didnt like it, but even more so WoW players thrive on action. They want nonstop explosions, dragons, car chases, etc. They despise goofiness, talking and slice of life moments which XIV has a lot of especially now. I don't think the MSQ for 7.X will be very good but at least the content will.

She's in such an odd position because they never gave her a proper character arc. Most of the ARR characters were the same but they've either been killed off, written off or rarely given new purpose like Thancred so now she sticks out like a sore thumb especially given how popular she is despite that.
I thought the void plotline was going to start her character arc and give her something to do but nope here's your FFIV plot speedrun.

Even the fricking WoL isn't safe because of Azem. EVERYONE is like this, Oda and Maehiro built this game with solid lore and character's that didn't feel like the damh Avengers.

Mostly because they were probably never intended to be scions when we first met them and were side characters that turned into useful ones and later MC.
There were a few other side characters that had seemed like they would be scions and then got wheelchaired or still locked away with super powers.
Urianger basically was, unless you mean 1.0 when he was just the GMs pulling pranks on players. I think that's the issue, though, that any likeable NPC can immediately be counted as a scion and not someone whose path crosses with the WoL more than once.
It's because they already did the new adventure shtick in 6.1 so now it rings hollow. Making the trial series msq fricked the pacing. 6.1 should have been 6.4.

Can someone please tell me what mod could possibly be causing pic related? I resubbed and found that my MCH Drill/Chainsaw/AirAnchor launcher is all visually fricked up. I went through all my mods (I use animation mods) and can't find anything that explains it. I only ever used Papapchin's and 2 other modders I cant remember the names of, but I am positive I removed anything that could be causing it.
Too soon to gauge but one has a 35 second intuition window, another needs 12 !!! fishes and the one in Ultima Thule is the second fish in the game that needs 3 types of fishes to trigger its FI (the other one being Warden of Seven Hues).
I don't have an issue with most of the eng dub, but I'm not going to be stuck listening to a troony making a low quality effort in sounding like a woman and '' ethnic '' for the entirety of Dawntrail. And this one feels especially like character assassination because Wuk Lamat sounds great in the jp dub.
The problem with the EN dub is that it's not consistent. There are some really good performances there, I won't deny that, but there's just as many mediocre or even downright bad ones in there. JP puts a lot more effort into it in that regard, every single VA is at least "good", even if it's just some one-off character for a single cutscene.
JP dub's issue is though that it's always very expected and they don't move from the archetypes ever. I also hate the breathy male voices and squeaky baby female voices. Like it's genuinely hard to listen to. Eng dub has more variety which is good, but this time they just went too far. And I think Erenville is going to be pretty rough as well, the heavy accents don't lend themselves for good voice acting most of the time.
The characters are archetypical themselves, so it's genuinely no issue at all. This isn't a highly realistic drama. Also you sound like a roastie when you complain about "squeaky baby voices".

Goku's VA is not good, but it stemmed from Goku being a kid originally. And they carried it to adult Goku because that's what people recognized as Goku. So instead she gets used as the magical instruction manual and occasional 'pls rescue her she's in mortal danger but it's not actually mortal danger', just to ensure she's always around.

Best case scenario is that they somehow bench Wuk Lamat, but that's just not possible when she's such a central character to the story.

It's decent for a Primals 4-star, has a decent 9 and a good spread that can snowball with Ascension and she'll suffer less in Descension than most set-cards. But I still prefer Shinryu for general use so I don't think its worth changing my primals deck.

They're offhand things said by the devs 10 years ago, etc. Theres almost nothing a so called lore person could tell me about XIV I didnt already know from playing.

I don't have an issue with most of the eng dub, but I'm not going to be stuck listening to a troony making a low quality effort in sounding like a woman and '' ethnic '' for the entirety of Dawntrail. And this one feels especially like character assassination because Wuk Lamat sounds great in the jp dub.
The problem with the EN dub is that it's not consistent. There are some really good performances there, I won't deny that, but there's just as many mediocre or even downright bad ones in there. JP puts a lot more effort into it in that regard, every single VA is at least "good", even if it's just some one-off character for a single cutscene.
JP dub's issue is though that it's always very expected and they don't move from the archetypes ever. I also hate the breathy male voices and squeaky baby female voices. Like it's genuinely hard to listen to. Eng dub has more variety which is good, but this time they just went too far. And I think Erenville is going to be pretty rough as well, the heavy accents don't lend themselves for good voice acting most of the time.
The characters are archetypical themselves, so it's genuinely no issue at all. This isn't a highly realistic drama. Also you sound like a roastie when you complain about "squeaky baby voices".
