>I play videogames for the writing.
There is nothing more pretentious and deluded than a gamer who goes around saying this. They are called GAMES not BOOKS. This goes for any game not just the pieces of shit pictured here.

How do I unsubscribe to your blog?
when you get old enough you see that writing is big thing to separate game from another
Nah, if you want good writing, read a book or watch a great movie. Getting your stories from vidya is cringe and bottom tier behavior.
Keep telling yourself that zoomer. I'm at the point where I can't even entertain the schlock they put in front of me.
Context makes or breaks games
When gameplay fails, and it will fail, all you have left is the reason you're engaging in the gameplay loop
I enjoy the gameplay and writing of those games pictured.
fine then, have both
>deus ex
>good gameplay
Shit's aged like milk and you know it
630669395
it is clear to me you are just retarded now and any kind of discussion that could be had with you is worthless
>posts games with terrible writing
And what might you consider good writing?
You’re never going to get a good faith argument with this. Someone would consider anything “cringe” or “reddit” around here because they base their personality around contrarianism and irony.
Books (not even close to fair): Hyperion, Foundation, Dune, Remembrance of Earth's Past
Visual Novels (unfair tier): Ever 17, Ace Attorney 3, Umineko, Clannad, Tsukihime, Fate/Stay Night
RPGs (even competition): Chrono Cross, Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne, Final Fantasy IX, Planescape
The "writing" in Mass Effect 1 is the most cliched average sci-fi plot
Ah so you're just a weeb
It's fine to want good writing in a videogame, but if you value anything higher than the gameplay you're a retard who has helped cause the state of dogshit.
>pretentious
I don't think you know what that word means.
and now you know why RPG Codex is trash.
>writing
>New Vegas
Lol, people have only been saying this for the past 9 months
how nu r u
whats even the point of posts like this
like 0.2% of all the games ever made are enjoyed because of their writing, just play the other 99.8% if you don't like them
NuVegas
>Casinos prosper in a gated community in a post app desert
>NCR somehow can maintain an over 300 year old dam but doesn't have recourses anything else
>NCR fought the brotherhood for technology and captured some of their bases but somehow forgot their knowledge from fallout 2 of how to build a fusion generator or how power armor works
>Ceaser doesn't like western society so he bases his society on the literal blueprint of western society
>Ceaser blindly trusts a guy who nuked the Legion and murdered dozens of their soldiers
Absolutely shit Tier writing.
Acting retarded on purpose is not a substitute for a personality.
I play game for the atmosphere. Of which the writing is a huge part of.
But I like the gameplay in those three games?
It's like eating soup with a spoon IT AIN'T RIGHT IT'S UNNATURAL YOU FREAKS MAKE ME SICK
I don't like soup.
Books and movies don't offer the same interactive element that games do. Doesn't mean that I want to play your bing bing wahoo
ok go play mario bro
It's not pretentious it is just what I like. I enjoy the story telling and world building in ME1, which enhances the game design, a lot. It is very immersive for me. ME2 arguably has much better gameplay, in terms of combat, and it even has more dialog, but the writing is hit or miss which sometimes takes me out of the experience.
>doesn’t post Morrowind
Morrowind is the pinnacle of “AMAZING story/lore/music, unbelievably shitty gameplay”
