I was tripping balls and thought I could just play everything on my modern TV.
I made that mistake in 2013 and regret getting rid of my TV.

Modern HDTVs definitely change how a game looks or even plays. I recently bought an Xbox2HDMI adapter and, in my opinion at least, original Xbox games look way better on an HDTV than they do on CRT. I can even make out Big Smoke's face in San Andreas, something I've never been able to do even in the PS2 version of the game.
