Frick the NA version. Those last few levels border on sadism. Honestly don't know why people slurp 1 and 3 so hard when the 16-bit games exist and are so much more well balanced

its a fun challenge
Up to a point it was. It got unreasonable by the end
No, you're just a casual making excuses. Children beat this game. Neither CV1 and 3 are particularly hard for NES standards. 3 does have some (minor) cheap stuff in it, 1 does not at all with the single exception of a low chance of death's scythes spawning on top of you, which MIGHT happen once in a while and lead to a single hit.
Sick of people who try to blame the game and aren't man enough to just say it was too hard for them.
Then post your credit card info
I'm serious. Do it or I'm doing it for you. You like a challenge? Play the challenge of will a random Black person drain your savings or not?
That's literally the same thing. You are advocating terrible design, normalizing crime so you're going to normalize other crimes too. Post your credit card now.
Just learn the patterns, dummy.
I did, that's how I eventually beat it. I just didn't want to replay entire levels because of shitty checkpoints and cheap deaths in order to learn the patterns.
You use savestates to learn the patterns then go back and do the levels legit. If you couldn't do the level without savescumming then you didn't learn the patterns.
>y you didnt beat the game!
Yes? (I bench 225lb btw)
>he thinks 225 is impressive
But somebody who looks like that wouldn't bench 225
Also you don't lift
>You use savestates to learn the patterns then go back and do the levels legit
that's still not legit btw
You studied before the test? Sorry, you didn't really pass.
you got a look at the test to know the answers beforehand? that's cheating sweaty
This topic came up in a college class of mine when the teacher was being explicit about what was on the exam and he said "why would I not want you to know the answers? The whole point to the class is you learning these things." And he's right. If a test is only difficult because it's a mystery box with an element of surprise to it then it's a shitty test. It's supposed to confirm you know what you should, not be some kind of booby trap.
Also, the tests still filtered plenty of people despite technically knowing what was going to be on it because they still couldn't retain basic information and didn't understand the concepts. Telling students you *will* need to know how to calculate pH given a specific number of moles per liter doesn't matter if none of that means anything to them and they can't grok anything more complex than "the answer is 4."
Much like the Castlevania games (see, it's on topic after all). You can see what percentage of people actually beat the games based on the trophy data and even with the ability to save at will and skip straight to the end using passwords like 5% of people who downloaded the anniversary collection actually finished 1, 2 or 3. Even IV only has a completion rate of like 8% or something. Even easy mode's not easy enough, I guess.
Any school test should only require knowledge you acquired through study before hand, so yes.
Being able to complete the entire sequence of the level without a game over is the win condition of the game. You did not beat the game.
Wooooow look at all these bad-asses
Let's all be scared guys. They're clearly ready to strap a bomb to themselves and blow up a hospital or something right?
Why would you be worried about drone strikes or being gunned down by armed security? I mean you're just SO GOOD at a israeliteD VIDEO GAME
surely if you can put that much effort and tenacity into a rigged computation script when it isn't even a sports competition you could use a fraction of that effort to basically do whatever you wanted. Right? RIGHT? You're the ubermensch and can wipe your ass with laws and morals right?
Well if not maybe you should stop defending bad things and come back to normalcy with the rest of us mere mortals
>zoom zoom does the zoom zoom on Gankers
>gets called out for zooming
>zoom zoom proceeds to seethe
Many such cases, sad!
Let me describe the actual boomer experience of playing most of those old hard ass games
>play world 1/2 exclusively because you can't get past them
>find a code in a magazine that unlocks later levels, or get it from a friend
>use it to cheat and see later levels
I'd say that's the authentic experience for most boomers. Most people weren't actually clearing those games the way you imagine they were. That's not to say cheating isn't cheating, it's just that cheating was always part of the experience
accurate
>Let me describe the actual shitter experience of playing most of those old hard ass games
>>play world 1/2 exclusively because you can't get past them
>>find a code in a magazine that unlocks later levels, or get it from another shitter
>>use it to cheat and see later levels
>I'd say that's the authentic experience for most shitters. Most shitters weren't actually clearing those games the way you imagine they were. That's not to say cheating isn't cheating, it's just that cheating was always part of the shitter experience
So true!
why did you play this rom hack instead of the real game?
This game is easy compared to the first one. Ninja Gaiden 1 is way harder.
other than the final level, i find ninja gaiden to be easier
No one forced you to play the game. There are millions of games out there, go find an easier one, homosexual.
If you want a challenge try battletoads or ninja gaiden 1
Ninja Gaiden 1 is definitely easier than castlevania 3. I say this because ninja Gaiden is like a half hour to hour game to beat, like contra. Castlevania 3 is one of the longer platformers on the nes and will take you like 4 of 5 hours if you are bad
You're sorry enough to make a thread asking for validation. Now get back in there and do it RIGHT!
I feel sorry for you. Why don't you just beat it originally?
just play the jp version and don't take the alucard path
1's solid either way though so git gud
>don't take the alucard path
Elaborate. What's wrong with Alucard?
Alucard himself is okay, he's underpowered in combat but Bat Form is interesting. The problem is more with the route itself, the levels are boring (except for alternate 6) and Alucard 7 has some really questionable design. I think it's worth doing at least once just to check it out but the Syfa route is definitely better.
dude these games are easier than the mario games, come on dude also super castlevania 4 is boring easy
imagine bragging about using save states for a game as easy as cv3. nothing even remotely bs in that game aside from the long falling blocks section.
I beat the Japanese version with Sypha.
I beat the game.
so much cope to just admit that you cheated
it's no big deal, just move on, but don't expect us to pat your back because of it
Skill issue
>dude just play CV3 for 200 hours and learn every speedrunner trick
most people wants to play gamers normally
>climbing on walls with Grant
>pressing up and B with the most broken subweapon in the game
>speedrun tricks only learned after playing the game for 200 hours
Anon please post a timestamped pic of Super Castlevania IV's credits on original hardware before posting in this thread
literally get good
and you did not beat the game
especially when the game has this
>Using the secondary characters
Easy mode. You didn't really beat the game
True
The secondary characters are what make CV3 so fun, the game would not be half of what it is without them
>fun
Yes, figuring out how to overcome really difficult challenges using a diverse set of powerful tools is fun. That's what CV3 is. It's way more about strategy than execution.
I savescummed all the classic Castlevanias recently, it's way more fun that way
>noo you didn't beat it
Nor did I plan to
I've played through this game like 5+ times along with the 1st game I've played like 10x times through. I savescummed 3 the first time as well, but eventually got good enough to play jp version and now us version through. It's one of the few nes games I own and the day I got it I played it through day 1. All you need is practice
And don't do Alucard route whatever you do
Me too brother. The Alucard route on the US version is too ridiculously cheap and unforgiving not to
Why are Castlevania threads always the sweatiest tryhard threads on the board?
I only saved after a boss fight in Castlevania 1. Did I beat the game?
Was it on FDS?
If so: yes
If not: no
I know you were trying to trick me here
I'm awful at videogames and I managed to beat it. Don't be a shitter.
