>nearly 1000 buck on a 42 inch tv
please tell me those are leaf dollars
its swiss francs. i got it for 750 from somewhere else though.
thanks bro appreciate it
it was hard to resist the urge but at least i didnt waste it on gacha this time
C-series LG OLEDs are better than EVOs, but still a decent purchase. Hope you enjoy it, OP.
This literally is a C series OLED you tech illiterate frick. Evo refers to the panel technology not tv series.
Bro get therapy meant for gamblers, you are ruining your life slowly but surely. Talking to an expert makes you understand that you are not the problem but the manipulative game. please get help and cut ties with everybody who plays gacha shit, their company is not healthy
Nah he’s the problem for being a piece of shit dumb as rocks addict. I’ve played Genshiy Shitpact and I’ve never ever had any impulse to spend any money on it. That applied to basics every free game I’ve ever played with micro. OP is trash .
yeah im an idiot who likes to spend money, spending money makes me happy and gambling, thinking i might get lucky, gives it like a 10x stronger urge
>I’ve played Genshiy Shitpact
You are 90% as bad as OP
Sometimes genetics kinda kick in. I know, I have addiction history in my family. It's random but you might have the right combination of interest in the franchise, universe, and genetic predisposition for those bastard to hook you in. You should not blame people for being weak but people that abuse others weaknesses for self gain.
this
ideology has been an escape path from this gacha and capital riddled hell
had an over a decade long addiction to wow here
what if those people are weak towards predating over other people
You can hate both. If you're dumb enough to get emotionally manipulated into spending money on jpegs, you deserve to lose your money.
I think your vision is dangerously simplistic. You're the kind of person that says that until their family or themselves gets affected by it. It's a very complex issue but hating on the victims saying it's their fault is insanely ignorant. Nobody chooses willingly to get manipulated, sometimes people struggle really damn hard to do or be something others do with ease. Does that mean they deserve hate or further humiliation?
king. i can feel you are an honestly good person, dont ever change brother.
There's no point replying to actual autists about matters relating to other people.
If someone close to me fell for a pajeet google play card scam, I'd laugh at them. Personal responsibility is a thing, doesn't matter if drugs are illegal, your cousin can still be moronic enough to go get hooked on heroin.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the death penalty for anyone involved in any level on gachashit production, but these things wouldn't exist if there weren't a bunch of disgusting whales to prop them up. Fault lies on both sides, if you're too dumb to see you're being manipulated, then you're too dumb to be on the internet.
>If someone close to me fell for a pajeet google play card scam, I'd laugh at them.
didn't need to read further, you'll probably die alone
I don't think there's anyone close to you.
based and empathypilled activity, yanks must be asleep
children of privilege
OP if you still want to play Genshin without Mihoyo raping your wallet look up for the private servers, these work now, I don't know about the quests/story. Google "grasscutters genshin" and read a guide how to set up
genshin uses almost every form of manipulation to hook the player in and get the person addicted
Don't tvs have huge input lag making gaming bad on them?
this one supposedly is pretty much made for it, its pretty small so you can use it as a monitor. 120 hz 1ms and all that stuff
Gsync/Freeysnc in one is becoming a standard?
How do you even view HDR content? Like I have this fancy schmancy 16-bit floating point EXR file that I got from my drawing skills that can theoretically take advantage of HDR displays but I don't know what I need to do to save it as an HDR-display compatible file. Most I got was Krita telling me I could save it as a 16-bit ping with a PQ curve.
well, when it comes to games, some of them had the option to enable it. elden ring comes to mind. you probably have to manually do something.
I probably should worry about actually getting access to an HDR display first and foremost. Even still, my interest mostly is due to the possibility of displaying my art in HDR.
they usually have gaming mode, and mostly only sony's ones suck ass ironically for games
not this one brotherr, oleds have almost zero latency
still prefer crt thou
It's no longer 2016.
Even entry level TVs have input lag on par with monitors. You just need to enable game or PC mode.
>900 bucks
>for a 42" tv
i will mainly use it as a monitor, an upgrade from my current 1080p one
thanks bro, enjoy.
nice anon
instead of gambling this month, i got a 48" oled monitor too, same panel as the C1
blessed
hope you can quit gachas
my 32 inch was $80 but good for you i guess
its a 120hz oled, based purchase
you too anon, therapy can really help, i wasted tens of thousands on crypto gambling before i realized how up to my neck in shit I was
it's a whole ass system designed to rob you of your money by manipulating your psyche (not only gambling, but capitalism as a whole) and blame you for it, once you realize you are the victim, you can start to break free
isnt therapy a scam as well though? i think you just need the mental fortitude to get past that by yourself, no need for external "professional help". anyways, i started early, i dont know if it was team fortress or counter strike but gambling in vidya was a mistake for sure it got me into this whole bullshit and gacha was the last nail into the coffin.
i mean its cheaper than gambling and gives me someone to talk to, it can for sure be a scam and a bandaid on deeper systemic issues, but it makes life easier fr
>i mean its cheaper than gambling and gives me someone to talk to, it can for sure be a scam
No if you're lonely and want to talk to someone you're going to get scammed by a therapist who wastes your time for hundreds of dollars to talk an hour every week. You need a therapist who will actually work with you to curb additions.
Oh and if they get you hooked on shitty pills instead of trying to help you improve your lifestyle first you're going to be an actual addict like me stuck on ativan lmao.
>i set aside 800 bucks to spend on jenshin impact
i literally feel like trash for spending $20 on an action figure, how the frick do you get to a point where you set aside hundreds of dollars to spend on a shit game that will die and shut down it's servers in 5-10 years?
dopamine, addiction plus i play it daily so its kind of an investment as well, a shitty virtual one.
Did the same thing a few month ago.
Bought a C2 and I use it as a monitor. It looks amazing in HDR. It's a bit dark in SDR but I don't mind since it doesn't destroy my eyes.
No burn in so far
protip: use win + alt + b to toggle hdr on/off, turn it on only when consuming hdr content
Yeah I only turn on HDR for video games/movies.
It consumes less power in SDR and it reduces the risk of a burn in
If you use it as a monitor, hide desktop shortcuts and autohide taskbar. I had a c9 for about 4 years, no burn in what so ever.
thanks, i'll definitely keep that in mind
hey man, as long as it works.
hope jesus heals you of your gacha addiction brotherman
thanks brother i'm not religious but i appreciate the thoughts, maybe it will help, who knows?
Based. As the other anons say, you need to take serious action against your addiction if you were planning on spending 800 francs on f2p garbage. This is a positive first step and it can be the start of a new era for you if you keep it up. good luck anon. Unironically consider dropping in on some Gamblers Anonymous meetings. You can do it via zoom without showing your face or having to talk.
>i hate my gacha addiction btw, someone send help
As someone who faced the same issue, just delete everything and realize after 24 hours without playing that you lost nothing. The biggest way these games get you is by slowly giving instilling the habit of playing them daily by giving you daily menial tasks. As soon as you get aware of it, the control the game has over you slowly withers.
yeah and the biggest problem is if you've already invested money and time into it, its even harder to just leave by.
Sunk cost fallacy is a b***h but always remember cutting losses is always better than risking more. Besides you gain literally nothing in these games, the gain is a fricking png where the loss is an actual monetary loss. The whole thing is skewed from the get go.
yeah, you are 100% right. logically speaking its very dumb to do and destructive even. i dont know what it is that keeps making me do this shit.
how did you become aware of it
not him, but for me it happened when after work, I booted up the game, did my dailies, and what I thought would be a very small amount of farming, and suddenly, it was 2 AM and I hadn't eaten.
endorphine
By realsing I started to avoid looking at my expenses because I was afraid and asking myself if it was really worth it. Then I broke down what exactly I was doing and realized I gained nothing even when I was "winning" at the game by getting good shit, and it was a neverending loop. Since the gain became virtually null in my mind, I started questioning every thing I was doing in the game till I decided to skip dailies, and realized what I had build up in my mind as some form of absolute priority was based on nothing.
The more you play the more you lose, it's guaranteed. Accept your losses and find a dopamine replacement that doesn't farm you like cattle.
they say, the only way to beat an addiction is to replace it with another. may i recommend e-girl porn
Seconded. If you're dropping 800 on .pngs you might as well get some that'll blow your mind.
>oled
rip
shoulda taken the crtpill
It's a good set. Brainlets in here going on about size for sure couldn't tell you how many nits of brightness or the color gamut of their "great deal" big slab of shit.
do you mean you have an empty bank account now?
sometimes i cant sleep or just wake up in the middle of the night and just question myself for hours and keep thinking stuff in a weird but almost enlightened and clear mood, is this autism?
sounds more like a mood disregulation thing, closer to bipolar
Nah happens sometimes to me as well and i don't think im autistic lol
Unlike most addictions, this is one where you can go cold turkey. Uninstall the app immediately/delete your account.
You won't want to go back and do absolutely everything again.
this, give yourself something else to focus on while you fall behind
fall behind enough, and you'll realize catching up is not worth it
i actually tried to sell my account once but the trading scene was so immensely filled with scammers it just made me lose hope in humanity
>Oled
Enjoy your burn in, especially if you're playing genshin heavily on it, you'll see the UI overtake the screen
another reason to stop playing it, nice.
Have this 42" c2. Also only spent $300 on jenshin so far in 3 years. Get your shit in check. Also invest in crapto.
isn't there a gambling help hotline you can call in your country?
Genshin in particular has shit rates so I don't know why anyone would spend on that.
I won't tell you to go cold turkey because you won't do that. Limit yourself to the 5 bux monthly pass and that's it.
I spent 1500€ for the LG 44 OLED ultra wide, happy with it for now
I just bought this too, OP. It was disorienting going from 1080p/sub 1080p straight to 4K but after a couple days I'm more used to it. It looks great. What will you play on it? Also, I agree with a lot of others in the thread; gacha is predatory and destructive and I think it's in your best interest to not play it, good on you for not spending 800 on it.
>42'
Isn't this too big? How would someone fit this on their desk?
My Life In Wanking said it was shit
You did good.
Now uninstall genshit and never return to it.
I'm so fricking glad I'm immune to gacha and similar gambling shit. It just never appealed to me and always seemed a huge waste of money.
I am addicted to coomlecting though... I have so many fricking consoles and gadgets I never use. Each and every one of them is pretty cool though.
