legend of dragoon remake:
4 games, (instead of 1) turns all combat into action slop and entire game into sidequests and cutscenes
Mappy is a Yakuza character and a giant pot falls on his head and he says "Zoinks"
>4games
That sounds fricking horrible
think he was making a joke about ff7r
Be happy it didn't get a "sequel" like Legaia anon.
I got bored of long combo strings of timed hits by disk 2.
>bored of good turnbased gameplay
i think thats a you problem
When every single action involved doing that sort of stuff in a long JRPG, it does get tiring. Not like characters have access to magic unless they're transformed into their dragoon armor forms.
You're probably a grindgay that burnt out prematurely
NTA but grinding can be fun some times.
I did finish it though, I was just tired. the law city was a funny meme level with how you had to write laws for everything.
is this game actually good or just another case of white folk only having a few localized games in 1999
It's ok, all it really had for its time is flashy production values. I was disappointed with how the story fell apart by the end with them completely dropping the fact that the moon child literally made anyone that came into contact with her into her thralls, you can't just ignore that after you bring it up as the reason one particular character was so murder happy wherever it chased after a moon child.
It almost killed Sony so it's a good game in my books
It was aggressively average to bad in a lot of ways, but had good music and cool looking shit.
Combat is bad and slow, the translation is terrible, balance is terrible, actual story is pretty bad even if individual characters are good.
Legend of Legaia was better, and bosses didn't instantly counter and murder you for using cool shit.
It's still one of my favorite games ever, but I'm a JRPG-gay that was almost exclusively playing JRPGs around when it was released
I prefer to live in a world where something good stays that way and isn't perverted with a dozen crappy sequels and remakes.
I am forever happy VIII won't get a shitty remake.
I always wanted an online multiplayer sequel where you create A SEED cadet and travel the world completing missions.
That's a really neat concept why hasn't Square done this?
Because they merged with Enix. It's been pretty much all downhill since then.
Because that would make money and Square is in the business of hemorrhaging money
ideally you a make a game that filters the masses so that you dont ever have to suffer the fate of becoming a 'beloved classic' that is remade every 8 years and effectively eroded by time and modern sensibilities
Richard Tyler "Ninja" Blevins says it's the best RPG ever made, so you know it's good.
Isn't that the Fortnite guy
I can’t wait for the remake where Dart can romance Rose
Remember when Rose would fart on your team to heal them?
SPINNING CANE
This is so forced. This dragoon hype is so fricking forced?
With a tv show that would eventually go west like sentai
>Every boss at a certain point punishes you for using Dragoon form
Why bother
It's such a great JRPG.
I understand why it's highly praised and why there's still a dedicated community working through a reversed engineered PC version right now, with tons of feature.
It's such a great adventure overall.
It has everything; Politics, mystical shit going on, plot twists, nice party dynamic, good gameplay... Some locations are gorgeous. Only the soundtrack is lackluster compared to other games from the era.
It's a shame it didn't do as well as Sony expected and they never tried anything with it after that.
>working through a reversed engineered PC version right now, with tons of feature
Meanwhile Legend of Legaia has nothing...
Legaia didn't have the same impact as LoD did. Barely any marketing, early PS2 game.
Same for Skies of Arcadia to be honest.
the soundtrack is still a 9/10 just shows how good the games of that era were
Is it? It's the most mixed reception I've ever seen a game have since checking out internet communities since 2002. Either people really adore it and it's one of their favorite games, and the other half likes to go on and on about how awful it is, how it used to rip off FFVII (don't hear this one anymore), and also how it ruined JRPGs
it is a ff rip off except it did it way better
>t. played both games last year
sorry to say, but LoD sucks and people only hype it up because "LE HIDDEN GEM XD," it's MUCH worse than its contemporaries.
VOLCANO !
gust of wind dance!
He was such a fricking bro.
>When you meet him in the death city again
A role model to many
He returns???? No fricking way I have only finished the boss fight where he dies and put the game on the back burner since.
In one of the last dungeons.
Nice
I like that his and Albert's additions were basically the same but had slightly different names and timings.
>Parents walk in during Demon's Gate
I can explain.
