How hyped I was, and how shit it turned out to be. It's like a punch to the gut, and a spit in the face.
How do I cope, knowing that there will never be another good Bethesda game ever again?

I was running on fanboy fumes, and was looking through rose-tinted glasses. Everything that raises an eyebrow in the trailers and gameplay showcases, was easily coped and defended by me. It's my fault really. I trusted Todd since he kept harping on how much this game meant to him.

Like the 1000 PLANETS thing wasn't a huge red flag?

Thing is, I was expecting the main hand-crafted content to be good, so I didn't care that exploration was gonna be trash. But when everything turned out to be trash, it just hurt really bad.

I'm NEVER buying a bethesda game day 1 ever again.

Covid for people under 50 with no comorbidities : 0.01% rate
Experimental vaccine of your choice : completely unknown effects
So you're given the choice between what is basically the flu and something which you have zero data about and even in the long run it will be impossible to prove anything about it.
If you chose the latter, you're dumb. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not into the 2 more weeks blabla, I'm just saying that at some point you had to make a rational decision between a fricking flu and some experimental treatment.

Seems no one played this game in this thread. Sarah, Barret, and Andreja don't like what you've done. Sam agrees, but also doesn't care. You can talk your way out of their disapproval and even earn approval if you choose right dialogue choices.
homosexuals say it sucks to only have one person take your side, but thats the consequences of your choices. It seems some people are caught up on the fact that NPCs are not under obligation to suck your wiener at every single decision you make.

An uncontrolled release of *any* form of engineered microorganism, much less one with the express intent of being dangerous to some form of life or another is a stupid fricking idea. On a galactic scale it's even worse, because now you've introduced potentially infinite ways for it to get fricked up or tweaked by someone and become a much worse nightmare than 'muh scary monsters' could ever be.

Cross-species diseases are incredibly rare, let alone cross species diseases which evolved entirely independently

Considering that we just recently went through three years of a cross-species disease pandemic released locally entirely on accident, I'd like you to now imagine if it was biblical-level lethal and we were moronic enough to release it straight into the jetstream to try and combat the pythons in the Florida everglades. If the chance of it somehow managing to snag anything besides its intended target is within a twentieth of a percentage, it's too high for a release on any planet where people live, much less immediately rolling that shit out all over the known galaxy.

Do they ever give a reason why you couldn't just use the Aceles while still working on the microbe to make sure it won't be dangerous?

Think you're giving Bethesda's writers too much credit. Binary is the only way they know how to do things.

We probably COULD engineer a disease from another species to target humans with crispr but at that point you could do it with any disease.

It's an entire galaxy, a marvel bullshit multiverse even, statistically speaking, it's already happened at least once. Cop out argument, I know, but this kind of thing just pisses me whenever I see it. Doing anything uncontrolled more or less right off the bat is the last thing any actual scientist should be recommending, especially if it's something that can be potentially hazardous to human life, much less lethal.

It statistically can't be hazardous to human life. The chance of a cross-species transfer is literally 0 unless there's some common genetic heritage you don't know about.
If I dropped a trillion humans on mercury none would survive because the conditions are incompatible with human life. Exactly the same consideration applies to microbes.

The only risk is to whatever native ecosystem the predator came from. The alternative (introducing the natural predator of those monsters) risks compromising EVERY ecosystem with an invasive species in a way that we actually do see irl

It's not about needing every character to agree with you, you stupid homosexual. It's the inconsistency in writing and the game's inability to take shit like your own character's background into account. I would be fine with Sarah disagreeing if she acknowledged that my character had actually relevant expertise in making that decision, or if she acknowledged that she *doesn't*. But she just treats you like some mouth-breathing moron regardless.

Do they ever give a reason why you couldn't just use the Aceles while still working on the microbe to make sure it won't be dangerous?

The saddest part is these lifeless wooden drones are more realistic than other npcs on the market in 2024 because flouride staring leftists proliferated their cult that much, not because of any improvements in technology or game artistry.

    >there will never be another good Bethesda game ever again?
It has been around 20 years since Morrowind. You need to start living in the present and play OpenMW.

So that's why I never came across this strand of dialogue people always spam here. The factions all seemed garbage and I avoided them.

everyone talks about whats wrong with the game but what would have actually made it good?
    less loading screens?
    linear levels?
    different plot?

    im a motherfricking starborn XD

Nothing. It was doomed from the start. Once they decided there would be instanced cells with dynamically generated locations and enemies, on a game engine that can't fricking do dynamically generated locations and enemies, it was all over. I'm serious about this. The tools they had are not up to the task and they never will be.

less loading screens, less planets, unique locations, less repeated dungeons

This is probably the worst place to ask, but my issue with the covid vaccine was that they skipped stage 3/4 trials to roll it out as fast as possible. Did pharmaceutical companies ever get around to those and how did they look?

You guys are just joking about not getting the COVID vaccine, right? It puts everyone else at risk if you don’t get it. Please be responsible.

I had covid 3 times, never took the vax and I'm still shitposting like there's no tomorrow
