I've been saying this since Day 1. But I'm glad that more people seem to be realizing it. BDSP is unironically the best Pokemon game we've had since BW2, and the best remake we've had since HGSS.

They're high value remakes if you need to complete the Dex, collect Pokemon or shiny hunt. Solid remaster.

ORAS fundamentally changed how contests worked and made them a little more robust for example, while BDSP gutted them for a poor rhythm mini game with esoteric victory methods

No, it's a mod that adds national dex, adds new locations, fixes following mons, adds new events from platinum, adds new player customization options, lets you disable expshare/affection on your PC, has all pokemon available without trading or version exclusivity cancer, speeds up the game and adds new poketch apps. The devs are also porting the game to PC, so we'll have a whole new engine for romhacks since the NDS era failed to deliver on that aspect

The point of a remake is to keep the game up to date with current stuff
I was complaining that (among other things) the devs arbitrarily included some new shit while excluding other new shit. Why are some items missing when fairy, hidden abilities, and affection are in? It doesn’t make sense, and the game is worse for not having that content, especially when you consider some of these omissions only serve to make the poorly balanced post-game even more brutal.
