Good, you've still time to cancel it and go with Chrono Trigger instead. Just dl rom and play it on snes emulator. It's pretty much only jrpg that I liked. It's a bit streamlined, fast combat, low on grind, straightforward story, but it's execution is extremely good. Cast of characters and time travelling mechanics are pulled better than in most games.
You got fooled into playing a shitty unfinished moviegame, but you're fr*nch and OP so you totally deserve it, especially for making this shitty thread
Frick off, stop shilling Baby's First Game With Stats chronocucks
Intro cinematic was kino, but 10 minutes before being able to play, come on... And this lore dump of weak ass japanese world building. At least it seems we are gonna play with giant robots, so there's that. It looks squaresoft good. Huff, huff, hiyaaaa.
I did play it. Don't remember much except there was some frog, a robot and the game was good looking.

romancing saga 2
Lol, why everyone is recommending old games, are recent jrpg so shit?

Don't get me wrong, I love Xenogears myself, but you minimize the chances of disappointment if you brace yourself for a moviegame from the getgo. Also there's a cheat code available somewhere that makes the text move faster, which will save considerable amounts of time, but if you use it, save often
Alright. The combat system seems promising from talking with the npcs. Also some npc reacting when you walk on his shit is cool. I love this homie hairline but I don't want to frick his sister.
Alrigth I'll stop for now. I've just beat the dragon with the gear. I took my sweet time.
Honest review so far: >Game is beautiful for its age >Realisation is excellent >A good amount of fine little touches in the village / mountain, we'll see if it carries on >Music is ok to good >Combat is ok, the multi button attacks make it feel more dynamic than it really is >It's kind of obscure how you unlock combos tho >A bit too talkative to my liking but surprisingly for japs nothing too jap so far, the characters (basic) struggles make sense >Dialouges are sloooooooooow >Camera can be a pain, but else it wouldn't be a 3d PS1 game >Story deserves some digging, could either turn good or shit.
Of my entire life, I was never able to say no to a redhair, so I'll definitely continue playing it
>>It's kind of obscure how you unlock combos tho
Gated by level and total number of inputs (doesn't have to be the exact combo sequence), some are locked until a late game story event. All combos end in X. First will be /-X, then /-/-X, then [_]-X etc.
Also you don't have to unlock them in order, and unlocking character combos (deathblows) unlocks ones you can do in your gears. There are also gear equipment that unlocks more gear deathblows.
Xenogears
DL started, but I have a terrible connection.

>anyone who doesn't like my shitty movie is a triggerBlack person
Shitty as that might be it's still more of a game than any Xeno game.
Anon they're made by the same fricking team

Correct.
>Recent JRPGs
You mean recent games in general are shit. Old good new bad across the board unironically
Has Shit gameplay
>second disc is a visual novel
It's on

Metal Max 2 Reloaded for the DS
Aaaaaah let me play the fricking game already! This Black person is probably going to die anyway!

The RPS game is driving me crazy, is it worth?
it lets you get some nice items midgame, but they're not required. it's up to you if you want to spend the time to beat him.
I never bothered with it or any side quest whatsoever, except some end game stuff, seemed like a chore

Combat is pretty ass, some bizarre difficulty spikes randomly, just really untapped potential
Just be aware this is a pretty long one.
Told you anon, use the dialogue speed up cheat, it will pretty much save like 5 hours or more of the game if you intend to finish it
jRPGs left me behind when they became straight up bad anime stories and as Japan focused on handheld/mobile gaming.
