Any design decision made during development should be made with fun gameplay first, cool presentation second and serviceable as a last resort. Any other reason has no place since it will work agaisnt the game more than in favor by either preventing us form reaching the gampelay, ruining the presentation or making us sit there waiting for the good parts to come.
People hates all these women characters, people of color or alphabet people because they can tell they're there due sensivities and we gotta sit through their sadness before getting to the good parts, if these good parts are good due all the reallocated resources.
