Thinking of my favourite games and their remakes.
Mafia Definitive edition was fine. I couldn't have had my hopes any lower, but it was okay. It did a couple of story points better, but it also fricked with a lot.
Diablo 2 Resurrected is Diablo 2. I'm happy with it.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 would have been much better if it was 2 + 3. 1 might be iconic with the warehouse and Superman, but the levels are pretty dogshit and just don't work with the modern moveset.
House of the Dead Remake's red tint is fricking awful to look at.
Looking forward to Konami fricking up MGS3.
I don't think Sega would do it, because they only seem to give a shit about Sonic and Yakuza, but I can't imagine any developer fricking up a remake of a classic game quite like Sega would with Skies of Arcadia.

Yeah, pretty dogshit. They frick up The Death of Art straight away by having Tommy suggest that he should meet Sam at the art gallery. The whole point is that it's a set up. That's why Sam tells Tommy to meet him there. Original's Tommy is actually shocked upset about the situation. Remake Tommy just seems miffed.
Some of the dialog is better, most of it is worse. The original was kinda of weird, because Sam seems to be enjoying the situation a little. Which might just be up to bad voice direction. Remake Sam seems more resentful about the situation, but the dialog is crap.
The ending monologue is utter shit in the remake. The original's isn't exactly congruent with the story, but it has points. The remake's nonsense about the importance of family is fricking moronic. It had nothing to do with the game or it's themes, it's just generic bullshit.
