Anon this might be a hard pill to swallow, but everything's changed, and they are constantly changing right now.
Windows XP is no more, the Internet now revolves around sites belonging to mega conglomerates, 2007 is almost 20 years ago.
Nothing is stopping you from playing old games, watching old movies, not being addicted to social media, saving thuosands and thousands of dollars and using good modern software.
There is no reasoning with these imbeciles. They don't understand that it was fun because they were in school and they didn't have a shitty job or obligations, and because they weren't conscious of political bullshit. They blame the games, but in fact it is them who changed.
internet then >near endless amount of websites with creative layouts designed for desktop pcs >surfing the web >nerd culture >massive creativity among community hubs, flash games, animations, interactive sites >inconvenient, slow, popups
internet now >5 or 6 sites used >minimal, clean styling >built for phone resolutions >infinite scrolling >mainstream culture >streaming >hugely convenient, easy to use, integrates seamlessly with most real world utilities
"it's the same. nuance is delusion. you only think there is a difference because of you"
There are a lot of good software that are better than the old ones: Torrenting, Music Players, Video Players etc.
The problem with modern PC gaming is the dependence of Steam which itself is dogshit, you can use Steam, but most of the time you will be fighting agaisnt the hordes of shovelware, endless "promotions" and social media tactics.
>says the man addicted to Ganker
Ganker is great, you watch some threads and ignore most of them, you don't need to login, no social media shit etc. I only use Instagram and LinkedIn in real life because they are the only ones that you can profit from in terms of social leverage and networking.
You can have a setup just like that today. You can build the rig you wanted as a kid and have a little retro corner. What's stopping anyone from doing this?
If it were 2011, I'd still be on Windows 7.
If it weren't for the powers at be, I'd still be on Windows XP.
If it didn't have an expiration date, I'd still be on Windows 98.
If I could still get it to drive, I'd be on Windows 95.
Not DOS though, frick that.
There are some covert zoomers or some genuinely moronic people in this thread if you think that things are “the same” or worse, it’s strictly on us as individuals that change. Worse are the people in here who think you can copy how things were then, now. Sure, you can emulate it, but certain changes unfortunately will bleed over. The culture surrounding games and the internet being a huge one.
Yes, you can't travel back to the past, but you can at least fight with some degree of success and even total win the gaming, music, movies problems.
One good example is using GoG to buy your games, use smaller forums, sites and social media for internet interaction and many other good tips.
Giga moron who wants his dick sucked, not gonna happen massive dick sucker
Life moves out and nobody has to listen to your stupid complains because you are not worth their time
>Worse are the people in here who think you can copy how things were then
If you're talking about my pics, that's not what I think at all and I'm deeply depressed and alcoholic.
Logging into Habbo.com.au before the Great Merge of the English-speaking sites after primary school, talking to my e-gf (who was probably a 40 y/o man) and RPing.
and suddenly... >POOL'S CLOSED
you can't go back, anon. the past is an illusion, it exists only in your memory. The future is also an illusion, it only exists in your dreams... or nightmares. What exists is the here and now. The Present.
You can't argue with these idiots
All they want is to have their dick sucked by other nostalgia tards that deserved to be beaten harder by their failed parents with the belt
I had that exact same monitor and tower circa 2008. Inspiron 530s; had an Intel Core Duo processor which was a huge upgrade at the time for me. Now I've been using the same Intel i5 processor since 2014 and everything still just works so there's no point upgrading.
>all those junk programs
Me too, anon
Back when it was so easy to have fun
>wireless mice from back when wireless mice sucked

Back when zoomers were too young to use the internet and it was free of them

Mostly true, like for OP, though some things can and do get worse.

Level headed, and true response. Unfortunately, things like finding alternative sites is tough given how shit most search engines are.
