usually it's just a meme, but this post is spot on. post skyrim bethesda is peak reddit core.
The exploration and side stuff in this game is generally pretty fun but holy shit the MQ is awful. It's like they tried to do an NV style faction conflict but completely fricked it up
>but completely fricked it up
it makes more sense when you realize how loose emil plays with his writing. fricking crayon muncher thinks he's a rockstar for prioritzing style over substance. he's like m knight shamalan

Man I love the memories of every Bethesda game release. I remember reading gaming mags with previews and shit on Oblivion and being hyped. When Skyrim came out we played it together with friends.
i didn't even playing. finding out they did a voiced protagonist and gutted most of the rpg elements is in my top 3 vidya disappointments. not to mention the fricking base building
Fallout 3 was amazing, so does mean 4 is even better?
3 was propped up by it's rpg mechanics and gameplay. most of the writing is pretty bad if you give it a second thought.
setting it earlier in the timeline in a big city like chicago would recapture that desolation. chicago even has a lab in the suburbs
I genuinely believe that NV has better guns just because Sawyer really liked guns and they put care into providing an arsenal with a lot of personality and variety. For Scavenging- I dunno, finding one of a few items that lets you make a cool ammo type or explosive was always more exciting to me than going on a scavenger hunt for 50 more desk fans so I could make that mod that makes the gun do slightly more damage.
i watched a video on 4's guns. they're fricking terrible
gentlemen? let me be real for a minute. i remember when i played Fallout 4 when i was just a young lad and it defined who i am. when that vault door opened, it sent shivers throughout my spine. i saw what it meant... to be a gamer. thank you mr howard. thank you.
I just don't really get the appeal of 4 unless it's your first in the series. Sure, the meme opinion that NV is better is true, but I honestly think 3 is better, even. The retained RPG mechanics and unique loot makes it feel like questing is offering you stable progression where in 4 "progression" comes in the form of finding a random game-breaking legendary. 4's map is also so dense that you don't really feel like you're exploring most of the time, just stumbling over wherever's in front of you. And it rarely offers you quests that do anything other than make you kill things to the point that Far Harbor offering up a single non-combat whodunit quest received massive praise.

Fo4 to me is still the "new" fallout that got bad reviews so i decided to skip it. Now zoomies are making nostalgia memes about it. I feel incredibly old
I was 15 and I remember playing it at my cousin's, ran around in power armor for a few hours but thought it was really boring, played 1, 2, Tactics, 3 and New Vegas before it as well and I just didn't like it at all.
Can't believe they made 76 using the formula of the worst mainline Fallout game.
Pov: it's 2022 and you're playing elden souls for the first time, the crypt door is about to open and the soft piano starts playing. literal chills. feels like a lifetime away.
Then killed a literal fricking deathclaw without the first hour
4 is made for journalist because they only play game for 1-2 hours before writing review, and 90% of f4 content end in 1-2 hours
>Playing fallout 4 >216 hours put in >Just finished a cool looking settlement >Stare at it for a bit thinking about Fallout 4 as a whole >Slowly begin to realize how much I hated the main story and most of the side quests >Realize I only played so much because I love base building and sim management >Think about how even that was half assed last minute >Remember how they wouldn't even let me leave robot kid Shaun at the institute when blowing it up, even though I said no, it made me take him
I should've realized right there how shit the game was. Why even ask me if I want robot Shaun to die, IF YOU STILL MAKE THE DECISION FOR ME?! God damn, who the frick is writing this shit?
fallout 4 was a mixed bag. the weapon modding system was cool as frick and i wish there were mods that properly backported it to the earlier games. base building was ok, better with mods, and exploration was decent.
the main things that sucked were the main story and settlement attacks. the most fun i had in fallout 4 was advancing the main story only to the point where preston is in sanctuary but never actually talking to him there; you get free settlers but settlement attacks never start happening and you can just explore the map and have fun.
to reddit i assume
please do, im sure reddit misses you
fallout 4 was shit, i didnt even finish it
I hate these memes that try to evoke Nostalgia
Sure Fallout 4 was shit but you didn't really know it for a fact at that early stage of the game so it was pretty effective.
It's just a streamlined repeat of 3.
Fallout 3 was amazing, so does mean 4 is even better?
FO3 showed the life inside a vault. FO4 showed a glimpse of life/world before the bombs fell and entering a vault, which was cool too.
umm chuddie that’s not Goodsprings what the heck is wrong with you?
fo4 is reddit core trash

I have this feeling for fallout 3. Also leaving the sewers in Oblivion
Same, but I don't have any feelings for FO4 besides it being a shit game.
>2015 was 27 years ago
for some people, 2015 was half their lifetime ago
>2001 was 36 years ago
Playing fallout 4 was probably the biggest video game disappointment ive experienced.

I wish we could have the atmosphere of 3 with the storytelling of NV

unironically miss 2015 and playing on community servers before the rise of discord and regression of social encounters

There is NO WAY fallout 4 was 9 years ago
SOVL, but still can't compare to MORROVIND
I’m leaking pre-cum just thinking about it

As a modding sandbox I guess?
For me it's the only 3d fallout with fun gameplay and worthwhile scavenging

>go back
>..to 2015
god i hate zoomers so much
it's criminal that that no one ever made a schlongs of skyrim tier dick mod for fallout 4 so i can make a futa character with a floppy wiener
Pov: it's 2022 and you're playing elden souls for the first time, the crypt door is about to open and the soft piano starts playing. literal chills. feels like a lifetime away.
Fallout 4 was trash in 2015 and its still trash now
Goyslop for NPCs
the amount of people who's first experience with fallout being fallout 4 is disgusting
>t. fallout 3 gay
the amount of people whose first experience with FO was any of the 3D ones is disgusting.
>t. FO1-2 gay.

settlement attacks still happen at other settlements besides sanctuary though, so you just have to use sanctuary as your main settler hub.
Fallout 4 was an utter disappointment, it was their worst game they made at time of release.
Go back then homosexual. Fallout 4 wasn't a long time ago. You're just a child
