I was thinking about finally playing Dead Space for spooky month but I have to ask an honest question?

I was thinking about finally playing Dead Space for spooky month but I have to ask an honest question Ganker and give it to me straight.
Is the remake worth playing? or should I just play the orginal?

You really shouldn't come here asking if a game is worth playing. Especially for remakes because the most unhinged actual morons will reply just to whine. As someone who's played the frick out of the originals and has played the remake almost 3 times, yes it's worth a play. Have fun.

      play the original
don't live your life like a junkie desperate for another hit, like the kind of morons that beg for remakes and remasters
just enjoy the game in the form it first released in and then move on

      Exactly what I meant

      The remake is alright.
It has slightly inferior atmosphere/art direction in my opinion so I would recommend playing the original if you wanted the "intended" experience.
Of course you should really choose what's most convenient for you, does slightly lower texture quality scare you and the concept of playing a game before 2015 unnerve you? Play the remake then.

I would say play the original, but isn't the PC version of it fricked up? Physics go crazy and the aiming is fricked up?

Play the original, demake is liquid shit.

I already played the original multiple times so I found the remake to be enjoyable. It plays slightly faster like Dead Space 2 and includes some later features like pinning and 3d flight. It does change how a few characters are portrayed and not for the better IMO. Mercer is the only one that really got a glow up. Hammond got it the worst rip my homie. The original voice actor and face model for Hammond were way better.

Guess I'll play the OG first
Also I assume 2 is great as well right? I've heard good things.

The progression gets compared to the Alien movies a lot for a good reason. If you like 1 you will like 2 but they have different tones

Original is great, 2 is also incredibly good, despite what most morons would say, 3 isn't as bad as they say it is. It's the worst of the three sure but it's still worth playing if you enjoyed 1 and 2.

Also I misread your original post, I thought you've already played the original and were asking if you should play the remake or replay the original. In this case you should play the original first of course.

3 is the shitty one, haven't play 2 yet myself. Wait for the Remake to be heavily discounted and then play that one if you enjoyed the original

Frick forgot to mention that the remake changes the story and characters in a way that acts like the player is moronic and needs even more handholding than what was already there.
      They butchered my man Hammond...

The original had him act like a mute moron who needed everyone else to tell him how to do his job though.

They're both shit. Its a fundamentally bad game. It is only worth playing if its your first ever horror game. If you've ever played another one, you'll gain nothing by playing this. And if you haven't, you should probably play a better horror game.

Remake does a few things better
    -better zero g
-nodes aren't needed for item rooms anymore, security cards are needed now to encourage backtracking through the ship
-the backtracking isn't bad because returning to previous areas usually gives you a new experience by environmental changes and surprise enemy spawns so you're not just returning to a room of nothing, usually very worth the exploration
-added the foam finger gun unlockable that was in 2
-added the impalement mechanic with your kinesis tool from dead space 2
Overall more than enough tweaks to make it worth playing at least once

Explain to me as someone who's played the shit out of both why someone shouldn't play the remake. I thoroughly enjoyed both.

You should honestly just skip the whole series.
Played the OG back in 2009. It was boring as frick. A linear, jumpscare-fest monster shooter. Predictable and generic as frick.

Dropped it just 2 hours into it. It was literally just a 3rd person DOOM 3.

Remake is genuinely and surprisingly great. I went in extremely skeptical and jaded and came out pleasantly surprised. They did make Nicole a hag and took away Kendra's tirs though.

    Definitely play the original.
Remake has wildly inferior sound design and atmosphere. It also straight up removes many small creepy moments that were in the original or poorly recreates them. IMO the original is way more scary.

I'd always recommend playing a original if you haven't. Playing the remake might be a cool experience going in blind but it relies on your ignorance of the first, after playing the original you can always enjoy the remake for what it is while also seeing other than graphics it's usually kind of a step back in areas, I haven't played the remake though but thats usually the case with remakes. Graphics and presentation will be better but art direction usually takes a step back and other corners are cut

Never played it myself, I played the original on deck and it worked perfectly. Only problem i had was that I'd occasionally fall through the elevators/lifts which would get me stuck or sink through the world. I played 2 afterwards, which was a struggle as it's quite samey but I enjoyed them both, I do prefer resident evil though.

a dead space movie would be action horror kino
imagine a standard slasher doing the freak sprint and isaac hits him the the knee severing one leg and without missing a beat for a second the slasher starts kicking and crawling towards him the second it hits the ground
