I don't know why a programming language of all things throws people into a psychotic rage against him, it's just what he wants to do.
Jon writes C-style C++ and barely uses most of the bloat, jai is basically just distilling C++ down to his specific use case.
Anyone who uses a language long enough will have gripes with it and daydreams about making their own perfect language, it's just that no one really bothers actually trying to make that a reality and newer languages are absolute pajeet-ware meant for big corporations rather than gamedevs so I fully support his effort even if I won't personally use the language.

You have to be one massive moron to be offended by a gamedev looking at a game through a critical eye, it's some weird form of corporate parasitism.
I played halfway through DaS offline so I didn't get any messages, but when I turned it on I was flooded with moronic unfunny redditor memes that completely took away from the game and obscured the actually interesting built-in messages. They really are worthless and serve no purpose other than meme factor.
