This combined with gaming just wanting to suck your life. There was no idea of a shut in NEET gamer, because gaming, just like other hobbies like guitar, lifting, etc etc, was just that: a hobby. Not there's a push FROM the industry, of gamers just consuming the games over and over and wasting their time, and not even meeting people. Just stick in the box and give all your money to a company
Honestly for as much as people shit on New Super Mario Bros, playing multiplayer with people of similar skill level and trying to frick each other over is a godtier gaming experience
3D World with its post-level scores and crowns actively encourages it
I find it a little too easy to avoid other players in 3D World, NSMBU is much more fun since you really are competing for space a lot of the time. Also the Wii U version lets one guy hold the gamepad and put blocks in front of people which is really fun
True, though 3D World lets you grab and throw other players, and frick everyone over by just booking it for the end pole
NSMB has both those features as well
People don't realize this is one of the greatest games ever made

I've seen highschool girls gather to play the mario tag, and now nearly ten years later everyone is still instantly fricking down to play it when mentioned
it's a genuine, absolute timeless game and concept, and proof the wii u was something with actual fire under its seat to really do something amazing
Mario Tag is my favorite game on there, it looks very unassuming but then it turns out it's fricking multiplayer Metal Gear Solid
This is a great party game but honestly they aren't as fun once everyone gets the strategy for each game down. The animal crossing one and Luigi one are both solved if you are good players

Baldur's Gate 3 specifically has local co-op. It's why it was delayed for XBox for so long.
Except now Microsoft is making a special exception where the Series S version doesn't have to include the local co-op (becuase it's too weak to handle it)

Don't get me wrong, I love online MP. It's what I spend most of my time doing.
But so, so many times I am hanging out with a friend or something and we wanna play something, and it's always like ... Oh. Yeah, nah. Not this game either, or this one, or this one ... basically every game requires one of us to GO HOME and then play with each other, instead of y'know. Being able to play while hanging out??? Lame AF.
