Too many games about "exploration" where the worlds are boring. Grassy fields just mean the devs are playing it safe and haven't really put much thought into the setting.
Now Subnautica, that's a ludo setting. From the moment you leave the pod you're in a totally foreign and engaging world. It makes almost every other exploration game look like shit for that alone.
FFXII had issues but at least it started you out in a desert, that was cool.
