OW1's aesthetics are generally a combination of futuristic sci-fi and super hero stuff while Kiriko and OW2 designs in general just feel like streetwear with futuristic greebling added in post, the balancing act of Kiriko's design elements of Futuristic Ninja Vigilante, Magical Shrine Maiden and the generally "sleek" aesthetic the game is trying for just drains her look of any real substance. Kiriko's concept art barely had any hint of Sci-Fi stuff and went way harder for the Ninja and Shrine Maiden stuff.

I think it's because the gameplay is entirely understood at this point and there's nothing meaningful to say about it that wasn't already said plenty of times over when PUBG was the market leader. You either know you like it or you know you don't. I'm just here because I think Epic is doing something pretty neat by putting characters like this in their game, we don't get enough of them anymore because everyone's acutely aware that anything you make which features such characters will get latched onto by a giant community of people you probably don't want associated with your product. If you embrace that it's going to happen and just make what you think will do well, I have to respect that. I can only hope that Epic has more noble plans for a wider variety of games outside of the Fortnite ecosystem that they're just building up capital to finance.
