spider-man 2018, you could fall from the top of the empire state building to the street and smack the ground for a little animation but gets back up again. or maybe that was miles morales, but that's still no damage, just a "funny goof" and you move on compared to your kneecaps exploding in the OG Spider-Man 2.
That suit looks beyond horrible. Can't believe they're wasting slots on OC garbage like this, instead of just porting over all (except for the MCU shit) the suits from the original.
They hired the "creator" of the Spider-Man 2 webswinging to shill the first game and say the swinging was great, and then I played the game and it was absolutely nothing like Spider-Man 2. I don't trust those Black folk.
It took me by surprise at first too because it felt worse. After a few missions I got used to it and had fun with the game, but I cant believe they had a better swinging system 20 years ago
It is absolutely nothing like that game. You're slow as frick, you stop gaining momentum very fast because the speed limit is so low, you cannot bump into anything, including the road, and Spider-Man just swings straight into whatever direction you push the stick in. I had more fun with the WoS swinging, and that game had moon swinging.
why do you fricking morons always argue over semantics

He's called the web-slinger. The swinging is an important part of his character. The swinging is better than 90% of other Spidey games', but it's still a far cry from Spider-Man 2 and I'm mad at the Spiderman 2 dev for pretending like it's equal to his.
It only mentions requiring more "precision and accuracy" which makes me think this is just going to be requiring you to aim and time the button hits to have swings go through, not actual mechanical control over momentum, angle of release, etc
This isn't sounding so good until they say turning off all assistance actually grants the possibility to swing faster, much faster than the default swinging with all assistance on, since it is the exact reward for being good at swinging on Spider-Man 2 The Movie game.
"Git'ing Gud" only to swing as good as any random with all assists on would be a complete waste of time.
Yes, stay seething. better kills = better results than those who don't, anything contrary to that is a aberration to nature, like the subhumans crying about every issue in society is because the bar hasn't been lowered enough for incompetent people to enroll in any segment of life
You’re the one seething that your child’s entertainment isn’t selective enough. You have no real life skills, so by your own logic, you should not have any positive results in your life. I’m sure that’s largely accurate though, judging from your perspective here lol
>This is the right thing to do.
No. The right thing to do would be to have a pop-up at the start of the game, that says: "Do you want to enable easy swinging for disabled people?", and have "hard" swinging enabled by default.
if you dont care about snoy exclusives this is the way to go if youre absolutely opposed to just getting a pc. >get bing bing wahoo exclusives >best versions of multiplats >backwards compatibility >gamepass
Spiderman maybe, but I can easily wait the 6+ months for final fantasy rebirth. Don't forget the exclusivity deal is only for 3 months. I also have a gaming pc and PS5 that's thrown in a corner. So this isn't a console war thing.
hopefully it removes that barrier on the ground that you automatically glide against when swinging low. Loop de loops have already been confirmed so I'm excited to see how that looks.
>modern games have to be auto-play by default now >people who actually want to play have to spend 5 minutes in menu settings meticulously toggling things on and off for a frankenstein difficulty (which is also likely in opposition to how the game was designed and not even tested)
ah yes, truly a $70 + tip experience
handicap settings should not be on by default.
Also, didn't console "people" used to complain about PC gaming having too much tweaking?
Boy, how that's changed with >it's okay now that we have it
180'ing
I would agree with you if it was a true gameplay mechanic. It seems to be a disable all these safety features if you really want to have "fun". Why not just make the game around it like they did with spiderman 2 years ago.
Toggeable options, toggeable map, toggeable difficulty, toggeable whatever the frick. Its a win win for gamers and devs, so I really hope this become the standard, sadly it seems common sense it’s not in the guidelines for these frickers
>Its a win win for gamers and devs
It's a lose-lose actually. because either:
1. Only everything turned ON will be tested and thought of with design (Because it's the default), and every other combination will not be cared or thought about, beyond the functionality itself.
2. Every combination will be rigorously tested and designed with, so everything suffers by trying to not interfere with everything else
There's a reason your favorite games of new and old are very likely heavily designed and restricted in player freedom (in terms of toggling game aspects on and off).
This modern "buffet" style game mentality is why every game feels mid / forgettable. There's no personality or passion. It's just a checklist to appeal to the widest possible pool.
>Make a single means of transportation >Soulsdrones bandwagon developers into making it hard for seemingly no reason other than being a tryhard
Dark souls has been the biggest disaster in gaming history and I refuse to think otherwise, it just made all gaming worse by everyone copying it.
You have it backwards.
Swing Assistance should be opt-IN, not opt-OUT.
So no one is asking it to be harder, they're simply asking for the original version, which was made easier for no reason.
>who cares?
Because a handicap being on by default means the game was designed with it in mind.
Subsequently, turning it off means you're now playing a non-default version of the game, which means you've created a disconnect between your experience and the intended experience.
*Sips Drink* >It doesn't need decent combat, mashing square is enough >It doesn't need momentum based web swinging. Moon webs are fine >It doesn't need good boss fights. QTEs are just fine >It doesn't need a dynamic day/night cycle or dynamic weather. Thats too much effort for a small team. Please understand >It doesn't need a good story. A watered down version of Kraven's Last Hunt is fine. >It doesn't need Eddie Brock as Venom because it just doesn't >It doesn't need MJ to look good. Stop being a sexist chud >It doesn't need Peter Parker as Spider-Man. Miles is just fine you racist chuds
YOU ARE NOW HERE >It doesn't need to be as good as the 2004 game, Web Of Shadows or Shattered Dimensions.
doomerbros?? our response???
I will not be playing this shit becuz of the garabage writing. I barely slogged through Miles Morales and stopped halfway through Rift apart
Who's still playing game for their stories and dialogues in 2023? Just skip the cutscenes or look at your phone.
>I will not be playing this shit becuz of the garabage writing
Cool. Thanks for your input.
That looks like AI generated garbage.
Considering it requires FakeFrame Technology on a 4090 to hit 30fps at 1080p, it is basically all AI.
>Considering it requires FakeFrame Technology on a 4090 to hit 30fps at 1080p, it is basically all AI.
homie what? you can run the nu-spiderman games on the fricking Steam Deck at 800p 30FPS and even better on mid tier PCs
.... it's off by default?

That was the Miles game. Peter just does a super hero landing.

Autism ruins everything
>require more precision or accuracy
Completely worthless until we know what this equates to mechanically
Spiderman 2 (GameCube)
They hired the "creator" of the Spider-Man 2 webswinging to shill the first game and say the swinging was great, and then I played the game and it was absolutely nothing like Spider-Man 2. I don't trust those Black folk.

It's still pretty good, even if it's not spiderman 2 level. They got close enough where I found it fun to just swing around the city.
It's not anywhere near close. The speed limit is like 200mph lower.
it's slower and you get a lot more assistance, but if you think it's "nothing like" spiderman 2 then you've never played any other spiderman games
It is absolutely nothing like that game. You're slow as frick, you stop gaining momentum very fast because the speed limit is so low, you cannot bump into anything, including the road, and Spider-Man just swings straight into whatever direction you push the stick in. cut him some slack, he needed somewhere to get spiderman 2 residuals after energy hook flopped.
It only mentions requiring more "precision and accuracy" which makes me think this is just going to be requiring you to aim and time the button hits to have swings go through, not actual mechanical control over momentum, angle of release, etc
It means you need to aim your shots like how you'd aim a sniper rifle.
I will now pirate it
Still has flying.
Sounds good but is the momentum still fricked?
>we are going to totally do this thing we won't lie to you
is that imperial spiderman?

"Git'ing Gud" only to swing as good as any random with all assists on would be a complete waste of time.
>”noooo, it’s not fun anymore unless I know I’m better than other people at the singleplayer capeshit game!”
toddler brain

This is the right thing to do.
Let the casuals play the game on easy mode but allow more skilled players to have their fun.
>This is the right thing to do.
No. The right thing to do would be to have a pop-up at the start of the game, that says: "Do you want to enable easy swinging for disabled people?", and have "hard" swinging enabled by default.
One step at a time anon, you'll scare off the casuals too easily if you do that.
Casuals had no problem playing Spider-Man 2 two decades ago. That game had easy swinging as well.
Rising Sun Spider-Man
fall damage is the first good thing i've heard about this game
Buy this or wait for FF7 7Rebirth Slim bundle in 2024?
Neither. Get a pc.
or Switch/Xbox
if you dont care about snoy exclusives this is the way to go if youre absolutely opposed to just getting a pc.
>get bing bing wahoo exclusives
>best versions of multiplats
>backwards compatibility
>gamepass
too expensive and too much effort to build
I have both. Since Spidey 2 and FF7Part 2 wont hit PC until like early 2025
Spiderman maybe, but I can easily wait the 6+ months for final fantasy rebirth. Don't forget the exclusivity deal is only for 3 months. I also have a gaming pc and PS5 that's thrown in a corner. So this isn't a console war thing.
>tfw sony free game offer ends when this releases
thatr free game offer isnt even a thing for me in Europe
>free game offer
qrd?
Do you still play as a Black person in a world written by nuMarvel? If so, then pass.
>Skill Based
>Single player game
Yeah can't wait for non grass touchers to start bragging online about how good they can web swing..
Filthy fricking casuals can't handle aiming.
More at 11.
lel
hopefully it removes that barrier on the ground that you automatically glide against when swinging low. Loop de loops have already been confirmed so I'm excited to see how that looks.
If they don't add proper momentum like in the PS2 Spider-Man 2 then its pointless...
>still no PS5 slim despite the Microsoft court case saying it was coming soon
Its jover
Spiderman is a trash game, instead of x x x x now you will uuuuh x uuuuh x x x x uuuuh x x x x
Counterpoint: child pornography
It doesn't, but It also means you're less likely to be a mouth breathing consumer. At least from my experiences working around dumb college kids.
>modern games have to be auto-play by default now

ah yes, truly a $70 + tip experience
>options are bad now
handicap settings should not be on by default.
Also, didn't console "people" used to complain about PC gaming having too much tweaking?

>spectacular mode
>assistance to 0
>fall damage off
pizza time
Is this so hard to make?
Toggeable options, toggeable map, toggeable difficulty, toggeable whatever the frick. Its a win win for gamers and devs, so I really hope this become the standard, sadly it seems common sense it’s not in the guidelines for these frickers

My bigger complaint is how slow the slinging feels with the capped speed. Unless they change that I don't care.
they already confirmed they increased the speed now that the SSD can stream the city faster in front of the player
>Make a single means of transportation
>Soulsdrones bandwagon developers into making it hard for seemingly no reason other than being a tryhard
Dark souls has been the biggest disaster in gaming history and I refuse to think otherwise, it just made all gaming worse by everyone copying it.
>you're a souls drone if you want the main mechanic in a game to not auto-play for you
hmmmm
>You're a soulsdrone if you want to make something you have to do 90% of the playing time harder for no reason at all other than making it harder
FTFY
You have it backwards.
Swing Assistance should be opt-IN, not opt-OUT.

who cares? turn it off and forget about it. This is such a non issue
>who cares?
Because a handicap being on by default means the game was designed with it in mind.
Subsequently, turning it off means you're now playing a non-default version of the game, which means you've created a disconnect between your experience and the intended experience.
but can you make peter swing with just one arm?

I like it. Modulation of the experiencie is always a good thing.
That's sounds really fun.
>no physics like in RDR2 so you can crash full speed into a building and die
morons, seriously. It would make the game insanely fun but modern devs can not into physics
I hate modern games so much
SO HECKIN EPIC
SIRS SIRS
I LOVE SLOW MOTION
SO EPIC YES !
LOVE FROM INDIA !!!
kino
What does this even mean, though? Is it stuff like if you're web swinging from a building on your left, you can't turn right?
