The clipping doesn't make sense either way; half the hats Miqote get exclude the ears anyways, nothing is stopping them from just disabling the ears here too.
Even if the argument is that Hrothgar head models make it difficult, EVERY HAT IN THE GAME CUTS OFF AT THE SAME POINT ON THE FOREHEAD. This would take a day of work to make passable, a week at most to adjust.
All I can assume is just that the code and model infrastructure is just too deprecated and difficult for them to manage.

The Atonement change is such a weird thing to put in now. Presumably it'll change rotation so that buffed DS can fit into buff windows but it's such a small optimization.

The difference is less that 100 dps out of 7000/7500 on TOP, and around 200 for PLD, who has the worst DPS.
It's kinda silly compared to Worlo where the best specs can do 50% more damage that the bottom tier.

We just had a new melee job. We haven't had a new caster since SB, it was obvious we were getting one. The other job is up in the air, it could be either a tank or a ranged dps.

And? There's no purpose for dps-specific gear to exist anymore. DRG stopped being tanky by HW, SAM and RPR and DNC all deal slashing damage. Black. They went out of their way to force 2 raw heal healers and 2 shield healers. The same idea has been used to differentiate tanks. Now that they have reached 4/4 parity between the roles, they won't introduce any more of the same for a while
The only real healer that sticks to it's identity as a barrier healer is SCH. SGE can shit out heals while offering shields that are comparable to SCH. Meanwhile both WHM and AST have access to skills that provide a barrier. Yoshida can force terms all he wants but the truth is the game is so simplistic that said terms mean nothing. You can go SGE and SCH or AST and WHM while still clearing week one.

Except MCH weapons already get pretty close to rifle size for some of them. It's honestly what makes a lot of their weapons look comiclly bad with how they use it.
PLD sword vs DRK greatsword isnt a fair comparison because PLD still has the shield to separate them. All MCH has is the tool box which most people forget is there.
Then just go GW2 on it and make it an elixir gun. Make it distinct enough to not look like a MCH gun.

Instead of just reading the weather they actively shape it and bring forth natural disasters. Their big spells would be tornado, tsunami, quake, and so on which you'd build up to with meters that correspond to the respective weather event's intensity scales (Richter, Fujita, etc)
It'd pull from some older jobs like geomancer and oracle as well for lore purposes, call it like Harbinger or something and give it a sort of native American aesthetic like Ezana from Triangle Strategy (pic rel)

They will never add overworld content, and honestly it's why I feel so "trapped" playing the game. You're in an instance for nearly the entire game, otherwise you're in a city. Every zone is just an inbetween for the story. There isn't any exploration or a magical world to explore like other MMOs. I'd wander around the world absent mindedly in some games just for the heck of it, even if I had seen the sights before. I admittedly do that with the ARR zones from time to time when talking to friends, but everything after is so disjointed and dead.

No one does it anymore. It's not really "variant", it's "choose your own adventure" which sounds great but it's just a book that's written out for you. You can't do bosses in any order, you can't skip sections, there's nothing you can do to try and make specific items drop. It's just a regular dungeon with a few different paths.
