Whereas people that actually play games, or sonic games know that the series is almost only ever at worst mediocre, and '06 is not the rule, but an exception.

06 isn't even the worst sonic game. it's not even the worst mainline sonic game. it's just the buggiest one that had the highest expectations prior to release. I'd play that shit a hundred times over before I booted up Heroes, Boom, Free Riders or any of the game gear games again.
Heroes is better than 06 by a longshot.

I'd much rather play Heroes over 06 just because it's not as buggy, but it's also my ideal 3D Sonic experience despite the gameplay. It's the real classic Sonic in 3D transition I expected, but because the gameplay was ruined I can't really enjoy it.
And now that I come to realize just why I don't like the Adventure gameplay is because it's based on the fundamentals 3D Mario introduced instead of using what classic Sonic actually did, I dislike the gameplay even more now.

Shadow was surprisingly fun, only had a few missions I didn't like, Heroes was pretty fun too, but I hated trying to get the damn emeralds. It's been a while since I played Lost World and found it to be a decent Mario Stand In since Mario didn't really have a single player 3D platformer on the Wii U
Adventure 1 and 2 were hit or miss for me with its missions and I prefer the 1st game even though I played the shitty steam port, yes I will mod it and playthrough it properly but I don't think that will change my rank for it
I could never really get into classic sonic, he's always too close to the middle of the screen and I cant see whats coming, and they all control awkwardly, when I get to slow parts of the game I don't really want to keep playing and all of the boss fights have really awkward physics.
Colors isn't as good as I remembered it

I played the wii version of unleashed and its shit. Sonic and the Secret Rings was my first Sonic game and it was shit.

This is honestly how I feel, I'll probably lower Shadow and heroes scores eventually because playing through them the first few times is still fun to get to the real final boss, but I doubt I'll ever get all 10 endings for shadow again or get all 4 endings in heroes along with the emeralds, and I might like Adventure 1 or 2 more if I play them again
as for Lost World I haven't played it in years and it might not be as good as I thought

I played the originals and didn't like them.
I really, really disliked the way physics worked when you were standing on slopes. Sonic always felt either too fast or too slow for comfortable platforming.
Umironically the average Sonic game is better than the flavour of the month trash.

The only good part of that game was the NiGHTS level and the final boss music. Also why is Unleashed on there twice
Unleashed Wii is bad and Unleashed HD is a dumpster fire.
Unleashed SD is horseshit, Unleashed HD is...fine but mostly for beast Sonic.
