yeah there's nothing wrong with Godot being a moron, its consistent with his character, the issue is it doing the whole "Godot was the coolest guy" character shilling afterwards, his character is perfectly fine, its the last 1/4th of the climax that the SCRIPT tries to sell you that he was doing a good thing.
Godot is great, am i supposed to hate him or something?
I don't hate him at all, he's clearly not a good person and is filled with flaws, but that's the point. its not the character's fault that the writing fumbled the climax he was involved in.
>help crush defend guy in court from psychotic mass murderer girlfriend >she wins the case >go to meet with mass murderer for some reason >get poisoned due to stupidity >wake up years later >crush is dead, guy she defended is trying to avenge her >blame guy for her death for some reason >treat guy like total shit >try to make things right for crush >kill her mom >pin the crime on her beloved little sister >HE WAS THE COOLEST GUY
>kill Misty, the shitty mother who abandoned her two daughters and is second only to Thalassa in overall shittiness
Based. Not much of a loss, if I'm being honest.
I wonder how far into the development they actually were before they included Phoenix and the "jurist system" into the story because I've always been under the impression that Takumi wouldn't even have got the permission to make the game if Phoenix wasn't going to be in it.
I was under the impression that the game was made solely because of the jurist system then capcom wanted phoenix to be involved with the plot early in development, although i have heard that this process did eat into enough development time so that other aspects that were planned got rushed, liked kristoph's backstory.
>phoenix
yes. >zak
no, this man is godot tier moron at best.
supporting character for Phoenix would be the best yeah, I don't get how they threw Apollo on Khura'in instead of Phoenix
mostly marketing, you gotta remember more people like phoenix and entire games are made and broke by if he's relevant in them or not sales wise, so going the "phoenix introduction, then sneaking in apollo to give them the same screentime" was the approach, still a better approach then the previous game, disclaimer that i don't think any of these games are bad.
He actually comes across as pretty mature and smart when you're not playing him in DD and SoJ. I would have preferred it if he just remained a supporting character even if he did start practicing as a lawyer again.
Apollo didn't have any connection with Khura'in prior to SoJ, so going into it made a bit more sense for Phoenix to be the one there if either of them were going to be there seeing as he had Maya as a point to connect him to the country, but still, I would have preferred him to just be a supporting character.
I will never get over how this homie had evidence in his pocket that could have proven his innocence and he just decided not to present it so he could ditch his child and attorney fees.
i swear I remember the intention was "he didn't want his Incel coworker to be accused of the crime because he knew he didn't have the balls to shoot his Mentor" and that piece of evidence would've falsely accused him, which to play devil's advocate, is totally fair, but the fact that his back up plan was "leave his daughter behind" is indefensible.
>i swear I remember the intention was "he didn't want his Incel coworker to be accused of the crime because he knew he didn't have the balls to shoot his Mentor"
I don't even think that reason exists in the game, it's never mentioned why
He was a massive cuck. So fricking tired of fans drawing fanart shipping him with Mia when during the trial Mia doesn't even care to acknowledge him and is instead 100% dedicated to supporting and encouraging Phoenix Wright
I do agree with the argument that phoenix and maya are a bit too forgiving with him but I also got the impression the game otherwise understands that he wasn't in the right at all, Godot himself says he was a fool if I remember correctly
who asked?
Yes, how do you know?
I had 14 when I was obssesed with this guy and his story.
I liked him but his plan in the last case was moronic
That's the point, Anon. The real issue is that everyone acts like he was a hero at the end when his buttholery put Maya in danger as much as Morgan.

she's even shitter than Dahlia?
oops sorry OP here wrong image.
Why did they have to neuter him? Why are the writers such spineless cowards?
Because they were forced to somehow crowbar him in as an important character in a story that was planned without him.
I wonder how far into the development they actually were before they included Phoenix and the "jurist system" into the story because I've always been under the impression that Takumi wouldn't even have got the permission to make the game if Phoenix wasn't going to be in it.

As a game, Apollo Justice does a far better job with portraying morally grey characters with Phoenix and Zak than Godot.

nope, I always hated how people said "WRIGHT WAS BASED ON AJ WHY IS HE DUMB ON DD AND SOJ", implying he wasn't dumb all the time.

Absolute dumbest character in AA
he could've avoided all the moronic shit he had done.
I still won't forgive the writers for wanting to kill Pearl Fey in place of Misty
flawed character ≠flawed writing
What was his problem?
Being a filthy Gramarye.
I will never get over how this homie had evidence in his pocket that could have proven his innocence and he just decided not to present it so he could ditch his child and attorney fees.

>TFW I headcanon'd an entire reason to justify something in the writing that was never explained properly
Oof, that actually hurts.
It's not explained very well, but that is the reason stated in-game. Zak didn't want Valant to take the blame for their master's death.
oh thank god i didn't make that up out of my ass.
But is that really Zak's reasoning or what Valant thinks?
Just what Valant thinks. Zak never explains himself.
>attorney fees
Oh no, he paid Phoenix back in full by trying to frick him over in a poker game and ruining his only source of income, again.
Godot is great, am i supposed to hate him or something?

Cope and seethe. Based Godot was giving Mia a thorough Godicking.
Official art pairs them together too
reddit: the post
seriously, frick off back there
The Ace Attorney reddit loves Godot
