I summon the sacred essex gacha story tier list
>S Tier Story
Limbus company / Girls Frontline
>A Tier Story
Blue Archive
>B Tier Story
FGO / Honkai star rail / Arknights / Nikke
>C Tier Story
Azur Lane / Genshin / Granblue Fantasy
from bottom to top:
>Azoo lane
I never paid attention to it
>Granblu
its only here because a friend plays it
>Genshin up to the inazooma arc
was boring and the payoffs while competent (for mond and liuye ) felt too standard or boring and Inazuma itself was just shit tier.
>FGO
fluctuates on a range of kino to dogshit often and the first 4 or 5 singularities were shit tier.
>HSR
it was decent up until the not-china part, of which it became genshin level. Up until then I liked it.
>AK
absolute dogshit beginnings up until chapter 4 or 5 after the shota got his shit kicked in. Was alright to go through until i started to not care during monologues
>Nikke
it's GFL but barebones and about robot rights. it's a lot more bite sized than most other gacha stories because of how it's progression is and so the pacing is off if you get walled by any combat stages and the deja vu sense kicks in during some of its high points. Also red hood getting revived and then dying in less than 1 chapter was shit.
>Blue archive
comfy SOL stuff except for the parts where it isnt. MC or (you) is very heavily relied on compared to most other gachas.
>Limbus
excluding the 2nd chapter where it's just meh, every chapter so far has hit the mark with fun interactions and visible character growth. In particular chapter 4's ending being a n heavy punch to the heart. It was good enough to make a character that nobody gave a rat's ass about to getting him a fanbase
>Girls frontline
after getting past the first parts that the lolcow "serious" anime covered the quality and my enjoyment level skyrockets to the point that despite being as long as a thick novel my interest never went away during any part
>blue archive
>A tier
homie that shit is so goddamn boring even for gacha standards and no nexon shill can't hide that fact
It's a story of love and hope, you wouldn't get it
Platonic love is BORING
if the story doesn't make me click the skip button it's a good story, simple as.
>Genshin post Inazooma
>Quests are three times longer now with much more words and even less gameplay and substance
Lmao
My man, Girls Frontline is kino suffering and everyone accepts it cause of the dystopian future and their strength as AI. Good reminder that even machines break down.
>Good reminder that even machines break down.
You're living in the age of planned obsolescence and anti-self-repair lobbying on the hardware side of things, and pushy/forced updates, unnecessary server-side login dependencies and enshittification on the software side of things. Why in the absolute frick would you need a reminder?
Gachas have stories?
how else would gachas hook people into spending thousands to get their girls/guys
Via the effect of "I mean it's not much and the game is free anyway" repeated dozens of times per player
The first half of Sdorica season 1 was pretty cool. Haven't played it again tho
Also b***hing soundtrack

reverse 1999 story is pretty good, game itself is terrible
GFL and limbus
Lostbelt 6 is definitely the best gacha story, but F/GO as a whole is a roller coaster of quality, taking uncontrolled dives every step of the way to get there.
Was it all worth it for Lostbelt 6?
Yes.
I weep for any newbie getting into fgo
>Lostbelt 6 is definitely the best gacha story
lol lmao
Name a better one.
Camelot, the real one.
Limbus canto 6, it has an NTR happening to rival the lion
*cough*
Camelot-Babylonia-Solomon clears
LB6 was pretty good but I think fgo peaked at the CCC event.
I enjoyed the CCC event since i like EXTRA, but i think Shinjuku is one that gets kinda slept on a lot by people since it isn't "Epic", its main issue if anything is probably that it is too short. It was the only time the Hidden Name gimmick of Remnant was done right, which is probably why they scrapped it in favor of LOL IM ACTUALLY PRETENDER as the TWEEST moment.
I think calling lb6 great is a fgo investor cope tbh. It's got a lot of content and pacing issues and it fricks up shit that's about the greater lostbelt storyline. Look at how fricking wasted Pepe and how nothing Beryl is. Morgan is disappointing, characters like Baobhan don't amount to much and various choices like samurai jack Mashu are needless and mostly pointless and could from a doylist point of view be removed and replaced. It turbo focuses and has terrible pacing and bloat.
Plus you have guda the non entity in all this
It's merits are enough that I could call it a decent standalone adventure novel but I don't I don't think it's a great fate story and it isn't good as part of some greater overarching story.
>Plus you have guda the non entity in all this
I'm going to address this rather than the rest of your opinions, because Guda being in the background of LB6 is one of the best choices. It lets Artoria take the spotlight, it lets you and Oberon to share perspectives away from the rest of the party, and it makes Guda feel more real in that they SHOULD be distancing themselves from the Lostbelt inhabitants as they learned in LB5 with Aphrodite fricking up their brain and reminding them just how agonizing it is to get close to these people that you're annihilating from existence.
Ok but it's still a problem that guda has to exist as a nothing that is a shackle that drags everything and everyone down to this fricking day. I agree a nonentity guda is better than a forced Guda.
But that's just a shittier version of not having guda to begin with
It's about 8 years too late to fix that problem, so make do.
It's called walk away from fgo.
I dunno. I just find arknights kind of mid story wise.
At least it isn't genshin.
Is LB7 worth the wait?
I don't know If I could stomach another EOR aka Ordeal Stall
LB7 is what Camelot was to Babylonia.
Good but inferior.
no gacha or game has a good story, the only good story is the story of your own life
>and so the story ends with jimmy john killing himself
not a good or interesting story tbh, happens too often
I'd kill myself too if my name was Jimmy John.
Of the handful I've played, Limbus by far
asian kojima's wild ride.
That's just shill cope because they know everything else about it is objectively shit so they latch on to the least shit part and pretend it's good.
Battle Cats. I like the part where all the cats battle. It's a good story. Simple, honest and impactful storytelling.
>then the cats took over the world
>then the cats took over the past
>then the cats took over the world, again
>then the cats took over the solar system
I don't get it.
Cats
The thing is that it can be left to interpretation. Are the cats truly taking the world over or saving it. I would say the lores / theories that the forces they fight against are the true evil is somewhat plausible.
I enjoyed the story of Sdorica consistently enough when i played it, but that one is kind of in a bad place right now, and it kinda has a bit of a FRICK YOU factor in how there is SECRIT STORY CONTENT that is missable due you picking the wrong choices and it is basically a Dead Game Walking right now from what i got, one factor is also that everything releases globally, so no real spoilers from a different country getting shit earlier then english speaking ones.
FGO has nice highs and can be surprisingly consistent with stuff at least being average and the occasional god awful lows. Camelot, Babylon, and Avalon are all nice, Most LBs are at least solid and but it also honestly kinda relies on you having contact with your inner teenager to appreciate the very Powerlevel homosexualry and specific Semantics about stuff mattering, and Inner Weeb when Guda Guda comes around or Sakurai is writing, Events are generally 90% Shitposts and Wiley Coyote Hjinx with maybe a serious moment or two when the final boss of the event rolls around.
Anyway, never fall for Gacha shilling, anon, no matter how good a story is you could just watch story scenes on Youtube instead, especially in the case of FGO since Global is like 2 years behind and Gachas systems are by definition unable to be "generous" no matter how much "free shit" or "Sparking you get" since they are designed to screw you from the conception stage. 100% of Gacha shilling is cope and lies and that includes from the "F2P" players.
I played PGR, FGO, GBf, Genshin, Arknights and limbus. I hate fgo because of how it's honestly not good and undermines the setting I genuinely like (fate is the weakest part of type moon honestly).
My favorites are honestly Sdorica and Limbus for story. I know Sdorica has some rough patches but it genuinely is just different from any other gacha I know and the framing of the watcher and the semi meta plot out there. Actual in game cutscenes being even if it isn't great production values adds a lot to the flow and pacing of storytelling and mood way more than shitty sequences, and the fact that it balances legitimately large casts in a way that makes it feel like a living world are things I appreciate a lot.
I think Limbus's voice acting and direction is amazing, it's pacing and writing is overall pretty strong and the character work is very much about building itself up continuously. Project Moon has gotten much better in attack animations and is doing more in game animation transitions and cutscenes too which is great.
Also it has a billion CGs. Fgo could.never even if they are trying to go for animated ones now. Sure stuff like the ORT awakening is kinda cool but it also ends up too little and not enough substance.
>Project Moon has gotten much better in attack animations and is doing more in game animation transitions and cutscenes too which is great.
>tfw Erlking getting bodysacked
>tfw Erlking's coffin attack
I fricking nutted
How the frick are they going to top next Canto? I unironically basedfaced multiple times during Part 2 and Part 3.
Basically if you don't say Another Eden you haven't played enough. It is THE story gacha. If copies a lot of anime and video game plots/cliches. There's FMA, DBZ, Naruto, Nier Automata and Final Fantasy just to name a few of the popular ones.
I went back to it and I love the designs
Wish eiyuden characters looked that good
is the mc self insert or its own character? I'm tire of self insert shits
why do i feel like limbabusgays inherited the annoying arknights shills
I love Limbus and want Gankeriggers to shut up about it to not invite Mihoyo players and other scum.
Arknights shills I will never understand, it's literally chinese wordslop with nothing substantial and no clear direction as to where everything is leading to.
Phew, Snowbreak isn't there.
nobody even knows what its story is about
You're a glowie doing glowie shit for BlackRock until shit gets completely out of control and you decide to be a good person and save the world as best you can while taking advantage of company resources.
Where's Master Chief from
I will not say this except FEH is actually generous and gives a lot of free orbs and stuff like buttplugs for free current year skills on a unit.
The prices for actually buying orbs are insultingly high though.
self-insert stories are SHIT, both male and female ones
Agreed. Any game where you're sensei, commander, professor, admiral etc etc is trash.
I genuinely love sdorica's soundtrack. It's one of the best I've heard. In contrast I think Genshin is kind of mediocre. It has extreme high production values and budget with the London symphony but it isn't actually that interesting and doesn't have a lot of substance. Despite being a chamber group Sdorica's tracks have stronger melodies, varied textured and different parts and progression that work very well. Part of it is the something like an open world floaty game style is gonna cuck bgm efforts but still.
Beyond that it's granblue for music. Say what you will about many things but it is a game that does come up with new mechanics and content and has fantastic music. It has a good amount of variety and narita does a fine job. I don't like the event it was tied to but the Mugen raid music being fricking heavy rock sutra chant shit for example is wild.
I like Limbus's music a lot too. I think that the normal tracks by the studio have a lot of good varied and strong mood bops. Mili songs are all very well used and mixed ever since canto 3. Compass and violets are used fantastically and fly my wings is just very different in a good way.
FGOs story is hard to rank due to how inconsistent it is.
You can go from one dogshit chapter like LB5 to Nasu Kino with LB6.
The game at the start is generally dogshit but the same can be said about many other games - Blue Archive players will also tell you that their story is high tier kino - but please ignore the super slow and super boring start that doesn't amount to anything.
I like guardian tales but I don't think female knight suit the story that much
Live service slop can't make good story.
It will have emotionbait moments, but it wouldn't be good, because it will be carefully drip fed, with loose ends every time, because they will have to keep story going until EOS
Also gachas without voice tend to be bloated in word count.
>Try gacha game
>Get character that looks cool
>They have three lines total in the story
>Get another character that looks cool
>Is a villain who first appears 60 stages from now and joins the good guy team 150 stages from now
>After this they only appear in comedy event scenes
I hate this shit and Limbus is the only one I've seen that actively avoids it
what are some good gachas
Trick question. There is no such thing as a good gacha.

IT UP
The japanese have spoken and Blue Archive won
For me its fgo, nikke is ok
FGO has the best highs but mostly mid to low thanks to the pool of writers, Limbus I would say as consistently been improving with each canto so far.
