And how is going to affect Ganker?

      Anonymous

The crash was in America only. Because they flooded the market with trash and everything was super oversaturated. Japan and Euro gaming was great hell nintendo was starting to domanate. UK pc games were getting better than ever and a quick pass. Even with the garbage speccy being flooded in the uk along with clones. The people that owned real PC's got the best games while companies tried pushing out garbage machines in hopes of making money copying the Americans. They all died out quickly leaving only the best of the best talent.

Once again there was no crash this only happened in America because of companies constantly flooding the market with super over priced garbage that was worthless every 4-8 months and consooooooomers were getting pissed off and tied of this bullshit.
Then Nintendo came to the states that sai we will notu allowu Black personu gargaderu onto our systemu to floodu the marketeru withu baderu gameus. EVen tho American companies flood the NES with garbage for 2-3 years. Nintendo started to clamp down harder. Then sega came to the scene. Then there was PC starting to take off in the states. The euros were really pushing shit with their PC games in the late 80's releasing ludo after ludo. Then the Amiga died because of boomer greed and stupidity allow microcuck to take over in the 90's.
Once againf or the third time there was no crash it as only shitty American companies that suffered due to releasing shit every couple of months making the old stuff worthless why also refusing to make good games for their systems. They never cared about their platforms having good games unlike the JApanese which demanded people push the system. Which is why later NES games started using special/custom chips on the cart to make the games ever better. And the NES in japan started using silly disks and an added to the system for better games.

I don't even need to read the rest, it's this and it'll continue to be this until only indies remain there and they have to grow from the start again.

Is Japan even laying any devs off? Seems like mostly western devs.

      Anonymous

The trend came from western venture capitalists who deal in tech and who don't understand or give a shit about the game industry. The same leaders who overstaffed during COVID, decided to buy all these shitty game Devs a couple years ago are now following the new trend

No, objectively, RE8, RE2, RE4, MHR and SF6 were also good, and succussful. Most more successful than DMCV. DD2 will join that success and praise soon.

It continued all the trash that World started. I still played it to the end of endgame because it's a monster hunter game and I need to feed my addiction, but it's in no way a good game. At least the maps weren't as dogshit as world's.

What ABOUT Exoprimal? It's an outlier. And the game isn't even bad, it's just poorly marketed and competing in a super saturated genre.

That's exactly what he's saying though. Their in-house stuff was good, but now they're outsourcing everything to cheap AI pajeets just like Bethesda did with Starflop.

Fun fact that they did nothing in the GTA Trilogy while offshoring a huge portion of the money given by Rockstar that was supposed to develop the game.

Rockstar games is known to have a lot of people usually exit their studios once big projects wrap up. Wouldn't be surprising. Won't be a sign they're struggling unless GTAVI has a 2077 tier diaster launch.

Rockstar is going to layoff all the employees that won't come back to their offices and workplace and then after they crunch whoever is left they'll get laid off after GTA 6 ships

  10. 3 months ago

People underestimate how bad things really are. Companies always lie and manipulate numbers to look better than they really are. It can happen really fast, one day it's layoffs and restructuring then 3 months later it's filing for bankrupcy. And this time the economy isn't allowing for negative interests loans to bail them out. They'll gut them out, Microsoft will buy what's left for pennies and we'll be left with even larger monopolies.

I want to be laid off so I can get severance and unemployment, but I never get selected. Last year they gave them six months worth of salary and you can get 26 weeks of benefits. I wouldn't have to work for a year!

Asian/Japanese companies are doing just fine because their companies are not bloated to frick and filled with parahasidic israelites only looking to profit short term destroying yet another industry before moving on to the next host to suck die and murder

    >Only the good AAA devs
There are no more AAA devs, that was a distinctive resource, consisting of people who understood game dev beyond just abstracted dev tools, that the industry became unable to retain by 2012.
If they are laying off, then that is a sign of poor quality primarily because they were using the in-and-out movement of warm bodies as a way to manipulate the stock market, rather than to legitimately go about the business of making games.
Anyone smart is at least tentatively trying to stock up some talent and stem the bleeding.
