dualsense is bigger and heavier, battery might be worse but I use it plugged in

which is which? I'd say the left one looks much more ergonomic. That being said, xbox controller knockoffs are good

If you plan on playing any fighting games PS4 dpad is superior from what I've heard, though I imagine there are mods for both.

I'm playing SF6 on a PS5 controller right now and I think the dpad is a little worse but not unplayable

I don't like the PS5 controller. The L1 and R1 if I try to press them in on the side it doesn't always register, I have to press them down from the center. It's like having an old logitech keyboard and pressing the enter key on the numpad from the corner and it doesn't quite go down all the way.

    Dual sense is chunkier
DS4 buttons are light and clacky, dual sense buttons are mushy and heavy
Dual sense shoulder buttons are 2x bigger than DS4
Dual sense triggers and sticks are more prone to failure and wear than DS4
I think the battery is worse on the dual sense but I always use both plugged in

Those are the main differences, make of them what you will

PS4 for fighters, PS5 for everything else. However for either one stick drift is a looming concern, so cheaper might be better if you need to replace.

I like DS4 but the wireless gets interference with other devices easier than some other wireless controllers.

Xbox does the same, so it's no biggie.

    They're VERY similar
Only big difference is dualsense is more fitting for big hands and has a ton of almost never used gimmicks

considering ps4 controller is used by a large amount of pro fighting game players, you probably wanna go with that
ps5 controller is shit for anything that isnt a casual interactive walking simulator (1st party snoy game)

PS5 feels better if you have big thumbs. PS4 always had your thumbs hitting each other with the sticks being so close together.

Both work with Switch and Wii U emulation out of the box.

PS5 unless you have woman hands.
PS4 is too small for me.

Anyone know if the PS5 controller still has that touch-thing? Can't tell if it's there or just plastic.

From personal experience, the Dualsense is one of the worst first party controllers I've ever used. The Dualshock 4 is by no means great, but the Dualsense makes it look like a GOAT contender

Then you never used the fat hamburger that was the original xbox controller.

You must have dodged a lot of shitty controllers then, including all the other current official controllers this gen. joy cons are fricking terrible, pro controller on switch has a horrible d-pad with the same drifting issues as the dualsense, although the brightside is the battery is way better. Xbox has no gyro so it goes straight into the trash by default, nevermind having to pay extra and go through loops for rechargeable batteries.

Depends on what you're going to use it for. PS5 has improved gyro, haptic feedback, has a slightly better battery life and is ergonomically superior. However, it's prone to analog drifting and the buttons become mushy with use

did anyone else have audio issues with ps5 on launch? I just got one and it kind of feels like when the cable isn't plugged in all the way so all the sound is almost kind of distant in a way, I never knew how to describe it I don't have the most expensive earbuds but I don't have a problem with it on ps4 or antyhing else and nothing in the audio settings seems like it'd help

DS4 is the perfect controller for me
got a PS5 but I still use the DS4 on PC, can't stand the shape of DS5
also the buttons feel disgusting and crunchy, don't know if mine came broken or this is how it's supposed to be

The ps5 controller should have colored buttons and ps logo.
