If I play a male character I can't play anything else than human fighter or barbarian with the biggest sword I can find. If I play anything else as a male I start having identity crisis.
If I play a female character I can take nearly any class and role. It feels so much more versatile and there are so many more opportunities.
What is wrong with me?
What is your favourite class to play, do you always stick with the same kind of character or change it up to try new things? Do you play as female characters?
I usually play male characters with no specific tendency when it comes to classes. However, my last character was a female barbarian (rolled the sex) and this turned out to be one of the funnest ones I played yet. In this case, it probably was because of the disparity.
It's just nice to switch things up for a while.
>what's wrong with me
This genuinely seems like a question for you to ask on /lgbt/. It sounds like you might have some issues with your gender identity or idea of gender stereotypes.
That or you're just weebtrash like me who always plays female characters for waifu/lewd reasons, but that wasn't the impression your post gave me.
Male elf wizard. Self-insert. Everytime
>playing a non fighter human male is giving me an identity crisis
The absolute state of /tg/. Ever heard of a profession called "actor"?
It's hard for me to imagine male characters in any other role and most of the time I feel compelled playing a male character, which imposes a lot of limitations on me. I have no problem imagining female characters in any role.
So you're sexist
sounds like a (you) issue, anon. Media and literature and gaming is filled with male mages and wizards and druids and priests and rangers and rogues.
>It's hard for me to imagine male characters in any other role
Are you actually moronic? The archetypal wizard/sorcerer has always been a man, thieves and burglars in most fantasy media have been men, the face of bards since 3e has been the horny man.
Wizard/sorcerer/rogue/bard male - sounds extremely gay.
The more you act scared of the big gay, the more convinced I am that you're in denial about being the big gay... which really does explain alot.
What does that even mean? That wizards/rogues/sorcerers and especially bards are really for gays?
No. (you) thinking them being gay and thus avoiding them by fear of being percieved of being gay is an indicator that (you) are in denial about being gay yourself.
A guy secure in his identity does not struggle with shit like this. He just plays whatever he wants.
It's just roles I don't associate with masculinity. I can for example stand by the role of the old wizard guy, or a muscle wizard, but otherwise it just feels like a role that would be much better fulfilled by a female character.
Out of curiosity how old are you, and did you graduate from the public school system?
Being insecure to the point that you can't even play a game a certain way without having an """identity crisis""" is the gayest thing you could do.
Yet you want to play a big sweaty man who naked wrestles other sweaty men for "training". Curious.
Autism.
There are limits to your imagination and you've recognized them. You can either expand your mind by reading (important) and watching more fiction to give you more inspiration to draw from, or you can stick to your comfort zone since you can only play in so many games anyways.
But this is probably a bait thread because /tg/ struggling to be creative seems to be the hot meme nowadays.
What are your preferred pronouns, b***h?
>What is wrong with me?
You need to self insert with male characters to play your notion of 'rpg man', you don't self insert with female characters so you have no barriers to play anything with them. You are a cuck fetishist who would let a manlier man frick his partner, if you had one.
In a Freudian outlook, it seems clear to me that your mother obviously filled many roles on your life. Provider, caretaker, lover, prostate milker. That provides you the archetype to see women and more versatile.
Your dad obviously played a very one dimensional role for you. Either hardass or totally absent which is why you see the male ethos as so static.
why do these shitposts read like essay questions?
(You)r head problem.
I never play women except when a videogame forces me to play it.
Literally the only possible thing a man can't do is give children and even that is a possiblity in either fantasy or sci-fi.
I'm playing a female doctor in a post apo game so yeah. She's really fun go play too.
> What is wrong with me?
The identity crisis. I can play any archetype of characters (PhysAd, Paladin, Sith Sorcerer, Nosferatu) dozens of different ways for both genders, and while I have favorites combinations, never feel limited or my identity challenged.
I'll play whatever the gap in the party is, but usually clerics of non-fleshy races.
