Microsoft having the intention to buy Nintendo doesn't mean it was reciprocated

        Also this

My God, it's one of these homosexuals.
POKEMON IS NOT OWNED BY NINTENDO. GF is not in any way connected to big N, besides mutual interest in releasing mainline games on big N's consoles.
Nintendo being bought by Microshit will not magically make games better and GF releasing them on anything but N's consoles will not happen unless MS will force Nintendo to stop developing consoles altogether.

A e-girl thread, Cynthia vore trolling or wojack spam died for this thread and all three of them are less moronic than (you).

Nintendo do have a share in TPC but not a majority share. And that share, at best, could just lead to spinoffs

Keep seeing this being posted, this is simply not accurate.
Yes, the ownreship of TPC is shared between Nintendo, GF and Creatures.
However, Nintendo also owns part of GF and Creatures. So even if technically the stocks were divided equally back when the company was created, Nintendo remains the shareholder with more power.

            >However, Nintendo also owns part of GF
Factually incorrect. They do own token shares in Creatures, as a takeover insurance (ie some c**t wants to buy creatures, Nintendo get a chance to match offers). They don't in Game Freak however and Game Freak will refuse all takeovers, ecause their independence is why they've been ale to make Pokémon persist as long as it has. They have freedom of doing whatever the frick with their games and IP with the only condition being have it ready in two/three years, depending on what game has been contracted.

moronkun, Nintendo owns 1/3 of control of The Pokemon Company, with the other thirds being internal and GF.
They also have a nonmajority control of GF themselves.
So yes, they do in fact have control over pokemon as a franchise.

Yeah, Nintendo own two of the top three slots for all-time console sales. Microsoft's only hope of getting anyone in Japan to give a frick for their tech is by buying Nintendo and rebranding the Xbox "Nintendo Xbox" because their current hardware sales in Japan's a fricking joke for how much they think they're the gaming industry.

Ignoring the obvious moronation of this post, Pokémon on pc would be fricking terrible. Japanese devs can't work on pc for the life of them, just look at how Nier Automata on Steam was bugged to hell and back for five years until the review bombing forced them to patch it. And if MS shits the game making to a western dev, the franchise is dead. And I mean dead, dead. Imagine Bethesda taking seven years to release gen X and by the time it's out it's only a glitchier mess than anything we've seen before, but takes up 700GB. You people don't realize how good we have it.

OP is moronic but since there's some confusion I just want to say that Nintendo does have responsibility for publishing the games, so if Nintendo suddenly pivoted to no longer wanting to publish exclusively for their own consoles (this will never happen) then the series would almost certainly become multiplatform, because it's quite easy to port games in this day and age.

      Anonymous

GF would probably welcome it as well. Most of their later non-Pokémon games have been multi-platform.

        Anonymous

Yeah, that's a good point. It doesn't seem like GF has any special attachment to Nintendo hardware beyond Pokemon games obviously being intended for handheld play.

        >Nintendo do have a share in TPC but not a majority share.
Keep seeing this being posted, this is simply not accurate.

However, Nintendo also owns part of GF and Creatures. So even if technically the stocks were divided equally back when the company was created, Nintendo remains the shareholder with more power.

Since Nintendo doesn't have a controlling share of Gamefreak and Creatures, they can't force those companies to vote with them. I imagine their control over the franchise, outside of perhaps a contract making them the publisher for every title, is just the ability to make suggestions and recommendations (which will almost always be followed, but don't have to be).

          Anonymous

          >It doesn't seem like GF has any special attachment to Nintendo hardware beyond Nintendo hardware being the only tech that continues to facilitate the premise of the whole series and reason it exists in the first place
It'll never go multiplat, unless multiplats start making portable consoles to put Pokémon on. It's no fricking wonder Switch is portable, its successor is apparently portable and everything from Game Boy to 3DS was portable for Pokémon to appear on. And that's ignoring of course the fact Nintendo likely won't sell up or stop developing consoles. That's what you homosexuals fail to realise - some people just want a game playing box. Not an entertainment hub, not a media centre. A box that you turn on, plug in a game and start playing And that's entirely within Nintendo's wheelhouse as part of a game ecosystem (because the actual peak way to play this current game gen was PC+Switch, to get most the "exclusives" and Nintendo's shit on top).
And Pokémon's the biggest normalgay game brand out there on top.

            Anonymous

No shit Nintendo won't sell. I already said that. They have no motivation to sell to anyone, ever. They have a huge cash reserve and they're sitting on some of the best IP in the industry.
I'm speaking in hypotheticals here, and if Nintendo were hypothetically bought by Microsoft, there is a very real chance they would start porting Pokemon games to other platforms, regardless of what Gamefreak develops for.

              Anonymous

If Nintendo were bought by Microsoft, Microsoft would have to beg Game Freak for a game for their new shit. Buying Nintendo doesn't buy Game Freak or their desire to make Pokémon for the west. If anything, it'd dissolve the current contract/deal/whatever Nintendo of Japan have with Game Freak requiring Microsoft to make a deal with them as new owners. And there's no guarantee of that happening, unless Microsoft pay to develop a handheld to satisfy Game Freak's (Tajiri really) autistic need to put pokémon in kid hands with portable consoles.

                >If anything, it'd dissolve the current contract/deal/whatever Nintendo of Japan have with Game Freak
No, probably not. If you buy a company, its contracts don't magically disappear.
Obviously we can only speculate on the actual contents of such a contract, if it exists, but it almost certainly doesn't have a clause saying "and this ceases to be effective if a majority share of Nintendo's stock is bought by another company."
