Would shenmue have been able to kill the playstation instead? Easily one of the worst games of all time when you consider the budget. they forgot to make it fun
Shenmue was a perfect autism-walking simulator. I played it and it was perfect. I turned off the tv, and I still had images of being an autistic Japanese guy walking in 80s Yokosuka. There was much less fighting than I'd had said, but the game was perfectly refined.
Yakuza was shit. Pure dog shit. I didn't even bother to finish it, I was getting mad at throwing punches in the air and not being able to rotate the camera >"you didshn't finish the game"
No, I didn't. It's shit. People played it only because it was on the dominant console of its era. Shenmue was much better, but it couldn't manage to save Dreamcast all on its own.
I love RGG but Shenmue at the time of release made me envision a future where games just became more immersive and Shenmue-like. Boy was I in for a surprise. I don't even regret getting a Dreamcast because playing Shenmue was one of the best gaming experiences of my life. I remember renting Omicron the Nomad Soul and being disappointed it wasn't like Shenmue.
>I don't even regret getting a Dreamcast because playing Shenmue was one of the best gaming experiences of my life.
I agree with this, and the first time I played Shenmue was on a RaspberryPi, with my old 4:3 17" pawn-shop LCD monitor, in 2018.
It was impressive. I am not a big PC gamer, so I wasn't used to immersive games, but it was even more immersive than Cyberpunk2077.
no?

Shenmue is for mature gamers!
Mature Japanese gamers played Super Robot Wars, they don't want to rotate a 3D gachapon model of Sonic the Hedgehog around in Ryo's hand.

Why not?

What does "TPBP" mean?

Shenmue Yakuza gay and boring games
The art of it is well done enough to be fun playing it. What's gay about it? Nothing really. It's the opposite of gay. Probably why you didn't like it
>opposite of gay
anon..it's extremely flamboyant. Like Jojos or fist of the north star. very gay.
Quick-time event = braindead homosexual zoomer toy
The games are cool, but saying they are not gay as hell is just wrong.
Let Dreamxbox enthusiasts have something for themselves you spoiled sonyhomosexual
The remaster is better
If Yakuza was on Dreamcast and Shenmue was on PS2..... the Yakuza series would've died.
....And the Shenmue series would've died.
sounds amazing to me

It's probably also the only Japanese game I prefer the English dub.
If Shenmue was a PS2 exclusive, nobody would remember it. It's the perfect "gamer cred" title as a faux deep game on a failed console.
yakuza is actually a documentary series on how sony won the console war
