Less overdesigned than Glaceon.
Because they're designing their Eeveelutions like they'll be added to the next/current Pokemon generation and not Gen 1 or 2. You're going to see more commonality with Slyveon or Glaceon than you are Flareon or Espeon for that reason.
Glaceon/Leafeon are still pretty damn simple in design. Sylveon is the outlier here but the ribbons are the only thing that makes it a bit much.
Glaceon literally has a hairstyle (but only the frontpart because 'add a stupid element so it's not too cool' philosophy). Also your mistake is assuming that we agree on what is 'overdesigned'. I'm working under the assumption that you mean multiple colors/a body pattern/accessories/additional body parts, and Glaceon is more complex than most other Eeveelutions for the reason that it has patterns, multiple colors, and an accessory (the hair.) Regardless, the purpose isn't to say that Glaceon LOOKS like a Gen 9 pokemon, just that it's more complex than other Eevees, and explaining to you the principle that increased design complexity is a symptom of designing Eevees under current gen standards.
Vaporeon is unironically more "complex" as a design.

I imagine a evo method where you let eevee faint in a graveyard-like area (idk classic example a burial tower)
Now obviously game freak wouldn't add it in fear of morality questions about "killing" your pokemon but it is a cool idea (atleast I think it is a cool idea)
I've been wanting a steel type for years
I'm so sad they wasted the mercury steel type on a spin-off mon, I even like Meltan and Melmetal but it's like they wanted another Manaphy and fumbled the execution
I was about to say Melmetal is my least favorite Steel type, but then I remembered Gholdengo exists. Ugh.

I don't know what exactly "doing nothing" is supposed to entail except for the fact that it has to be the most obnoxious way to evolve a pokemon in the entire series.
