If Vicarious Visions handled a Diablo 1 remake, how many changes should be made to it?
Nightmare and Hell difficulties being available for single player and the game having a shared stash seem obvious, but what else? Should the classes have spell skill trees instead of using books? Should it have new content? Should it have revised dialogue for the different classes and some revisions for conformity with the later games? Maybe fix plot holes between the original game script and its manual? Have the old manual storyline in-game as collectable lore?

I'd say just go for the ones we have enough info on to make whole in reasonable ways, but don't stick entirely to the original plan. Like the map quest: adding a timer back into the game is a bad call, but retooling the completed aspects of it as a way to unlock an Uber Diablo fight or increase the quality of his drops would be pretty cool. Adding the cut Butcher sublevel and randomizing whether you find him there or he jumpscares you would be really cool, too.
If Diablo 1 got a rerelease, I'd want them to add back most of the cut dialogue even if they don't have quests associated. The stuff about the island of the sunless sea is cool. Problem with implementing cut content is that The Hell already did a lot of it really well.

even if they make the game perfect 10/10 remake remaster I won't buy it because I fricking blizzard, and I don't want them to get a single fricking penny from me ever again.
I bought D2R. Otherwise I don't touch their modern products. The fact that it seems to have sold better than D4 can only bring positive results. Worst case scenario, I got nothing but a good Diablo 2 update while giving them a fraction of what their paypigs do.

DevilutionX is the best way to play it, imo. I'm just saying Diablo 1 could really benefit from a retouch since it was rushed. It definitely shouldn't be revised to be more like D2 or something, its own identity is important, but I think a little extra could make it much more replayable and fun.
I agree, but the guy who made Diablo left a long time ago. even before Diablo 2. I don't think it's plausible to remaster d1. especially with the morons working with homosexual blizzard now.
blizzard is so incompetent they can't even remake the coding for the original Diablo.
